Well, after having a job for the last few years, that meant I would leave on a Sunday night, work away all week, then do a couple of hours paperwork on a Saturday, then back out on the Sunday again, I was so glad when I got a job in January that meant I could be home almost every night. I was therefore determined to make up for lost time in 2017. I have done that with two London Splosh Games in March and July, a SLOSH event in June and a wonderfully messy photoshoot with MyPieRogative in July; I think I am having a good year.

So on to my latest adventure with messyjojo's Sploshing event at Townhouse International on Sunday 3rd September.

I should have been at last year's event but unfortunately my car broke down on the way back from Scotland the day before, so I was gutted I couldn't make it. Luckily, messyjojo created other event and I booked when I saw it.

I arrived at the venue and after finding the right entrance I was warmly welcomed by the onsite staff, I was shown to where my locker was and whilst the venue was partially closed the areas we were in where very pleasant. After some getting to know you chat, I got changed into what was my red and black one piece (leotard as refeed to by ari, see LSG2 blog!) that is now silver and black after washing and slightly tight around the gentleman vegetables I proceeded to enter from the warmth of the building, through the yard on a cold September day (have we had a summer this year???) to the welcoming 'splosh tent' when I was hoping to have an in'tent'se (get it??) experience and yes I did do the 'joke' on the day.

The first game was 'Pass the pie' which I think messyjojo needs to trade mark! In other words it was a simple variation on pass the parcel but with lot better prizes! Within the parcels were statements that were questions/forfeits. I can't remember what mine was, but I know I got a shaving foam with red gunge topping pie to the face! A wonderful foamy start.
It was then the Yes/No game and I failed miserably on the first question with a Yes, I blame my parents for bringing me up too politely! Ah well, messy again!

At the half time interval, I changed from my silver and black one piece into a new black cat suit and ended up in the pool with the stretchy gunge in; needless to say it got poured everywhere. Then someone, I knew I would forget your name, so shout up, thought it would be a great idea to get me to lie on my back with legs up and pour gunge down my cat suit legs! Those of you who have read my blogs before will know I have sensitive skin, so guess what I did when it was running down my legs yup, that's right I shriek a little bit, but It was a good kind of shriek! There was also some more shrieks as gunge was poured into my suit. From the laughter, I think I amused the rest of the tent.

After getting truly messy and having created purple gunge, we moved onto Kinkypants99's gunge tank. A home made one that was ingenious in its simplicity. The anticipation of waiting for it to be activated then the feeling of gunge coming down was awesome.
It was then shower and clean up time.

I was tired after the end of the day, but it was a good kind of tired.

Despite being tired, I thought rather than wait until the next day I would put my splosh clothes into the washing machine which I did. Unfortunately, I didn't rinse them out before hand and the gunge ended up blocking the washing machine. Which meant at 2340 I had to drain and mop up more excess gunge/water as the machine was flashing up error messages. Note to self: rinse gunge clothing first in future! Thankfully after some emptying the machine worked again.

I admire anyone who organising an event like as I know what time and effort goes into them from arranging the bookings, to getting supplies and the setting up and breaking down on the day. Therefore, Thank You to messyjojo' and Godfarter3 for taking the time to set up and organise this sploshing event. Thank you to Kinkypants99 for mixing more gunge, so we got to have a go in the gunge tank. And thank you to the rest of the participants as you all made me feel welcome and made the day what it was.
