Preventing Piracy
2
First and foremost until the laws change in the US and other countries we are never going to stop Video Piracy, hell no one can even find the owners. Most of the free sites are not based in the US, pornhub for example is based out of Canada.

Many of the video's on these free sites are from producers who are no longer around or just don't care. MPV, MudBunny and MessyFun video's hardly ever get removed. Some producers are on the ball: its rare these days you see one of my video's, Messygirl or Jayce/Ariel's videos on these sites. I know I look and yes give out tips when I see one.

What information do we have about the individuals who are pirating?

1. They are dumb or assholes! Assholes do it on purpose, the dumbasses don't realize its piracy.

2. There are 3 locations people can buy my video's. UMD, C4S or my own web site. So every time I render a video I put a hard-to-see watermark on the video showing where it was uploaded to. So when a video ends up on Pornhub or one of the many other sites I know where they bought it from.

3. These users do have a username on the original sale and on the site they upload it to.

4. Yes, Yes, Yes use Mess Masters Pirate system, my fans give me tips all the time, a 'thank you' helps.

5. I personally scan all the free porn sites for my own videos on a regular basis.

6. Issue DCMA Take-Down notices quickly and regularly. I do it twice a week.

7. I keep a spreadsheet that sorts and looks for correlations between usernames I sold videos to and those that show up on the free sites. Sooner or later you will narrow the list of sales to pirated videos. No its not super-accurate or 100% foolproof, but it sure does help. When you do find a suspected user, ban sales to that individual (blacklist). I can do this on my own site and on C4S; perhaps MM can create a way to blacklist some users from buying videos?

Did you know Pornhub has a net worth of $1.5 Billion, I bet some of that is our so-called profits. Technically I would think we could sue Pornhub for constant violations of 2257 and copyright laws, but it would be expensive and they will just come back with a 'we can't be responsible for our users' crap! This all helps, but we will always lose some of our hard work to these assholes. But you can reduce it somewhat. The second article below is a good description of how these people hide!
