Sue was late leaving work and, in a rush, to get home. So, she wasn't paying particular attention to her surroundings until she became aware of raised voices in the car park. Turning the corner Sue spotted two women in a heated argument although due to the poor illumination she couldn't make out the details of either of them. Not wanting to get involved, Sue held back and waited.

"So, unless I get a positive review then the footage gets leaked to the press" the first woman stated.

"I'll think about it" the second woman replied.

"You just do that!" the first woman concluded.

As the two women broke apart, Sue was shocked to discover she recognised the first one. The woman just happened to pass under a fluorescent light for a moment and Sue got a clear sight of her face. It was the celebrity chef Edith Kim, winner of numerous televised competitions and darling of the food critics. And it appeared, a cheat and blackmailer.

Nicole Flynn was a former policewoman who'd been hired to accompany Sue Jones on a flight to the capitol so Ms Jones could testify at what they were calling the celebrity trial of the decade. Apparently, there had already been a number of attempts to discredit Sue before the court appearance and so her solicitor had arranged for the additional protection.

"We will begin boarding shortly" the women at the gate announced.

Sam and Nicole made their way over to the gates. Nicole kept a watchful eye out for any trouble, looking around both inside the terminal and outside where their plane awaited. She noticed that there seemed to be an unusually large number of what appeared to be white bakery boxes being loaded into their aircraft.

Suddenly there was a commotion in the terminal. Nicole instantly pulled Sue behind her before looking around for the source of the disturbance. It turned out to be the arrival of rapper 3D and her female bodyguard. Some of the other passengers pulled out their phones to take a selfie with her, unfortunately she wasn't in a mood to oblige them and hid behind her bodyguard.

Luckily at that moment the gates opened, and they were allowed through. It was a short walk down a corridor then down some steps until they were outside the terminal. Whilst the sun was shining, there was a faint drizzle of moisture in the air which Nicole assumed was to a nearby cleaning crew that were pressure cleaning some of the runway tarmac.

"Boarding passes please" the flight attendant asked as they reached the plane.

After showing their passes they were directed to their seats which happened to be towards the front of the aircraft. Once again rapper 3D caused a scene, this time when she discovered that the overhead storage compartments near her wouldn't open. Fortunately, there were plenty of spare seats, so the attendant moved her further up the plane.

After making the appropriate announcements over the annoy, the captain taxied the aircraft to the runway, and they took off. Following the usual safety demonstration, the seat belt sign went off and people began to relax. The flight attendant started passing through the cabin offering hot or cold drinks to the passengers.

"Can I get a gin and tonic?" 3D asked the attendant.

Without warning the doors to the overhead storage compartments in the rear half of the plane flew open and cakes fell out of them onto the passengers below. The cakes mostly consisted of cream and so made an awful mess of those they fell upon. There was complete silence in the plane, both from those covered in cake at the rear and the lucky few at the front who'd escaped the mess.

"What the Hell? Cakes!" Nicole exclaimed.

Suddenly one of the passengers in the front half of the plane, burst out laughing. This didn't go down well with those at the rear half of the plane and one of them that had got covered in cake took the opportunity to scrape some of the cream from off her blouse before flicking at the laughing women. Alas her aim was off, and it missed the laughing women and hit another instead.

The women stuck with the cream took umbrage and called over the flight attendant and whispered into her ear. The attendant headed to the small kitchen area and emerged moments later wheeling a narrow trolley laden with cakes down the aisle. She stopped next to the recently creamed woman and passed her a cake.

The women with the cake stood up and glared at the women in the rear half of the plane who had thrown the cream at her. But rather than throwing the cake at her, instead the woman took the cake and smashed it into the face of the laughing women. This opened the gates to total mayhem as various passengers started grabbing cakes from the trolley and throwing them at one another.

"Keep down" Nicole told Sue.

Nicole had to protect Sue from the mess; if she got messy and it got out then her value as a serious witness for the impending court case would be in tatters. Nicole realised that this situation must have been arranged by Edith Kim exactly for that purpose. So, whilst she took off her jacket and use it to cover Sue, she also got out her phone and called one of her colleagues.

It didn't take Holly long to check the airport and discover the discrepancy; there had been an unscheduled cleaning crew working there at the time of the take-off. After phoning round and calling in a few favours she identified them not as cleaners, but as private detectives noted for being more than willing to engage in dirty tricks on behalf of their clients.

She noted down their address and immediately made her way over there. She burst into the office, ignoring the startled receptionist and confronted the female head of the agency. Initially the women denied any involvement but when Holly spotted some cakes in the room and threatened to start throwing them around, she soon admitted everything.

"Ms Kim hired us load the plane with cakes and spray the passengers with the serum" the woman explained.

"What serum?" Holly asked.

The woman explained about a serum that some research institute had accidentally developed which lowered people's inhibitions, especially when combined with pastries. Holly texted both Nicole and her boss a brief summary of the confession and before leaving the detective agency. But before she did, she took one of the cakes and thrust it into the head of the agency's face.

The cake fight kept escalating on the plane. The flight attendant tried to put a stop to it but that just made her a target. Cakes struck against her face, shoulders, chest and the top of her head. She turned around to grab some cakes from her trolley and start throwing them back. As she bent over the trolley a cake smacked her on her bottom.

"We have to put a barrier between us and the cakes" Nicole decided.

Nicole spotted the toilet with its unoccupied sign still lit. She pulled Sue to her feet and the pair of them quickly made their way towards the small compartment ducking the flying baked goods as they did so. Nicole pushed Sue into the toilet before taking a brief glance around the cabin.

Rapper 3D and her bodyguard were still relatively unscathed. 3D was busy throwing cakes at the passengers in the rear seats whilst her bodyguard was busy careful to keep the pair of them clean. Unfortunately, 3D wasn't being so careful and lifting up another cake she overbalances and ended up planting it into the unsuspecting face of her own bodyguard.

"Whoops!" 3D said regretfully.

The bodyguard clearly wasn't impressed with her employer's clumsiness or her feeble apology. She took a gateau and placing it upon a nearby chair, then grabbed hold of the back of 3D's head and forced her face into the waiting dessert. She then lifted the rapper out of her creamy facial and kissed her. 3D seemed surprised but not averse to the act and soon the pair were making out.

Nicole turned away and shutting the door behind her joined Sue in the toilet, it was only then that she got a good look at the inside of the compartment. It was a fairly small space already but made even smaller by the number of white bakery boxes piled up inside it. In fact, there were so many cakes there was little space for one person, let alone two.

"That's it! I have had it with these motherfucking cakes on this motherfucking plane!" Nicole stated.

From the reducing number of cakes thudding against the toilet walls it seemed that the fight was drawing to an end. However, Nicole and Sue didn't leave the safety of the small room as the sounds changed from those of conflict to those of a different nature.

Nicole and Sue stood, pressed up against one another as they heard grunts, groans, moans and the sounds of clothes ripping coming from the passenger compartment. Nicole realised her heart was racing, and she was tempted to open up one of the boxes, take out a cake and smash it into either Sue or her own face. But she didn't, instead she just waited. And waited.

It seemed like hours before they landed at the capital. Nicole listened for movement but there was none so, she carefully opened the toilet door and peered out. All the passengers were unconscious and naked except for a coating of cake. Rapper 3D had her head buried in the lap of her bodyguard whilst the flight attendant was intertwined with a couple of female passengers.

"It looks to be safe" Nicole said.

Nicole and Sue carefully made their way through the plane and to the exit. It took Nicole a while to figure out how to unlock and open the door, and then the pair descended the stairs to the ground. Nicole remained wary especially when she saw a small crowd waiting for them. However, it was from behind that trouble came as a female passenger stumbled to the exit and lobbed a cake out.

The cake seemed to fly slowly through the air getting ever closer to a worried looking Sue. Nicole reacted without thinking and threw herself in front of Sue. The cake impacted against Nicole's face which provoked laughter from those present. As Nicole wiped the cream from her face, her colleague Holly bungled Sue into a waiting car.

Sue made her appearance at court and thanks in part to her testimony, and the confessions of the detective agency, Edith Kim was found guilty. She was sentenced to two hundred hour's community service. She also lost all her sponsorships, was dropped from her television commitments and found the bookings for her restaurant chain plummet.

As a token of gratitude for maintaining her dignity, Sue invited Nicole over to her home the following week. When she arrived, Nicole was surprised to find that Sue had purchased a large number of creamy cakes which were laid out neatly on her dining table.

"You seem to have cakes on the brain" Nicole declared.

Sue smiled encouragingly at Nicole as she picked up one of the cakes.
