I'd forgotten about a mud spot back when I house sat for a friend a few years ago. Taking a look through google maps I realized that the area was a woodland trust. Therefore to be left as is other than the surrounding houses.

I'd not realized that there were paths as well. So it was that much easier to walk through. The small creeks that meander through it allow for some swampier areas. I located a few spots where the mud had potential. The first place wasn't very deep, the second spot I got to was much more accommodating to mud play despite the presence of skunk cabbage. If you don't know what it is then feel free to look it up.

There is enough running water to suitable get cleaned up after a fling but the lack of foliage at this time of year allows the houses that back up to the woods a clear line of sight for any goings on. I wouldn't feel good walking around covered in mud basically with in spitting distance of peoples back doors.

There should be more than enough greenery once spring finally hits to obscure all but the most prying eyes so it won't be till then before I explore the area more fully in the daytime at least. At night it shouldn't be too much of a problem with a flashlight to get an earlier chance to mud around.
