Note before reading ahead. I have written this story in a first person account, with a nameless, gender-less (you can apply your own preferred gender as you see fit), and description-less character. They will be referred to as the guest.

I have considered tailoring the story to fit specific characteristics, but I believe leaving this open to the reader's imagination is all part of the fun. Maybe you, the reader, are the character, or perhaps you have a description of who you wish the "Guest" to be. The choice is yours. Any feedback, both good or bad, is welcomed. This is my first story, one I have been thinking about for a long time, and have decided to take the leap to publish, so to speak. Enjoy!

That's it all booked. My annual leave has been approved, the last boring handover meeting complete, laptop switched off and my home office clean and tidy. I'm glad I chose to take the long weekend trip and get a nice early finish on a Thursday! Now, just to check in for my booking tomorrow, message the host and pack my bag.

I really needed this trip, I can't remember the last time I actually took time off from work, meaningful time for myself to enjoy my own time and my own company. I know I can be a bit of an introvert, and maybe that's why I'm now single, again.

The breakup had been hard, we were not fully there but it was certainly going that way. We had planned to move in together, maybe get a pet, give it a silly name and binge our favourite shows each night, but I just can't pull myself away to let go and fully commit. I know it's an issue I need to address, and the reason I am here, working a job that doesn't bring me happiness, and very alone. I shook the self pitying thoughts out of my head, back to my long weekend trip!

I checked the app, advanced check-in to confirm all is going ahead and oh.

"Hi. Thank you for booking your stay at Adventure BnB. We note you have opted for the long-weekend stay. To confirm, you should arrive at the premises on Friday 10:00am. Your check-out is scheduled for Monday 13:00pm. Situation depending. Find the address below and the what.3.words location. You will be best to take a hard copy of this as you will lose all phone signal around 3 miles out. I look forward to your stay.
PS - Please do not pack anything with you, no need for a bag or essentials, We have everything for you. After all, this is the Adventure Weekend you have booked!"

Howbizarre. Bizarre is the only way I can describe this. I had finished early to get everything packed, but now there is no need. And why do I not bring anything? And what place has zero signal? And why is my check-out situation depending, whatever that means. Oh well, I suppose there will be plenty of activities to keep me busy and break out time to relax, this is exactly what I was looking for!

The next morning I woke with excitement. I shoved on my usual pair of jeans and a simple shirt, quickly brushed my hair and cleaned my teeth. I packed the car with, well, nothing but myself. I made sure I had a full tank and off I set. Slapped on the dashboard was my scribble of some rough directions and a map to get my way there. Adventure BnB - HERE I COME!
