Katie's Wet Wedding
Mr Flannery continued to visit the pool two or three times a week. After only one more lesson with Katie, one to one, he started coming towards the end of the evening session and he went into the pool by himself. He was soon able to swim two or three widths quite comfortably before he became breathless.
Mr Flannery enjoyed his swims so much, and he carried an ongoing sense of gratitude towards Katie, for encouraging him so much at the start. Katie was delighted, but she still thought about Mr Flannery's hot tub, from time to time.
True to his word, Mr Flannery asked his friend, an elder at his Church, to make approaches towards Kevin's dad. Katie and Kevin extended an invitation, through him, for the whole family to visit them for lunch. The elder arranged a visit to see Kevin's parents. He followed a liberal, open-minded approach to religion and he was more concerned about trying to do good, rather more than passing judgement on others. He knew his Bible very well, however, and he put it to Kevin's dad that he owed his son better than to cut him off. Kevin's dad was stuck rigidly in his own views.
It was Kevin's sister who broke the impasse, "Well, I'm going to see them!" she announced.
Kevin's mum then spoke up; for the first time in her marriage she dared to express a contrary view to her husband. "We must all go!" she said. Kevin's dad glowered darkly, paused, and then reluctantly agreed that he would come to.
Kevin felt much relieved that his family had accepted their invitation, for the following weekend. Katie arrived home from work, a couple of days later.
"Hi, lover boy!" she called out, as she pushed the front door shut behind her. She still had her work outfit on, over her black swimsuit. Kevin looked nervous. He didn't seem to be quite himself.
"What's up?" Katie asked, cheerfully.
Kevin approached her and dropped to one knee. A hand was behind his back. "You don't have to ...say... yes," he stuttered, uncertainly, "But, Katie, I love you so much! And I want to be with you forever! I want to ask you to marry me!"
He produced from behind his back a small box.
Katie opened the box. A brilliant light glistened off the diamond stone of an engagement ring.
There was a pause as Katie gasped. Several seconds passed. "Kevin, this is so lovely, how did you afford this?" Katie sounded breathless. Before Kevin could reply she added, "Of course, I'll marry you, you lovely boy! My lovely lover boy!"
"I had some money saved!" Kevin said quickly, as he got to his feet. Katie burst into tears as they embraced. Their cuddle became passionate; she backed into the bedroom as they hurriedly undressed each other and made sexual contact.
Half sentences flew backwards and forwards, "Church would be nice, must speak to Mr Flannery, have the reception at Hillview, and must keep to a tight budget. No, let's not wait." Kevin climaxed and Katie settled back on the bed, "Keep going, just a bit longer!" she purred into his ear.
Kevin's family attended the little flat for lunch on Saturday. Kevin's sister was excited to see where her brother lived. Kevin's dad muttered and looked darkly at the bedroom door. Kevin extended his hand and reluctantly he shook it.
"You must repent, for you are living in sin!" he growled.
"Well," Katie beamed, "We've got some news for you all! We are getting married! And very soon! And you must all come to the wedding!"
Kevin's dad looked astonished, "Are you marrying in the eyes of God?" he asked, sounding a little less severe.
"Well, we are having a Church wedding!" Katie replied, excitedly. "At the Episcopalian Church!"
Kevin's dad pondered, "They are very lukewarm Christians!" he muttered.
"Now Henry!" his wife said, firmly. "It is not for you to make that judgement. Yes, we are all coming to the wedding! This is wonderful news!"
Henry ate his food, thoughtfully. He did not like to admit, even to himself, that he felt relieved to have met his son again.
There was so much for Katie and Kevin to do. The wedding was arranged, to take place in six weeks. The Episcopalian pastor was a delightful man and did not seem to be in the least put off by the fact that Katie and Kevin were already living together. He gave them several books to read, about preparing for marriage. One book was about sex; it emphasised the importance of fidelity and keeping feelings for one another burning strongly! Katie was a little disappointed that the book did not advise that she might try to tempt her husband-to-be with a shiny wet swimsuit or an even wetter top. That seemed to be a good plan, to her.
Katie chose her wedding dress. It was second-hand, with a full frock and short train. It was made of a bright, shiny satin and had several folds of material piled together. The top was off the shoulder, and cut across the front of her chest, giving a seductive hint of her generous cleavage below.
Rachel and Kevin's sister were to be the bridesmaids. Katie acquired two matching, second-hand dresses for them which fitted perfectly. They were full length and high cut in a gorgeous rose-tinted pink.
The wedding day arrived but the ceremony passed by in a blur. There were dozens of staff from Hillview in the Church, and family members from each side. Several of Katie's university friends from last year attended, along with some of Kevin's old classmates from school. Katie stumbled over the words she had to say, and afterwards she could hardly remember any of them. Henry gradually warmed towards the proceedings.
Hillview provided the reception in the restaurant. Geoff arranged for this to be done at a price below cost. Hillview would make good profits over the bar.
After the formality of speeches and after a couple of drinks all around, the reception began to get lively. Katie and Kevin started the first dance. Springsteen's, "Atlantic City," had never sounded so good. Henry passed some comments about the evils of alcohol and that women should not flaunt their bodies on the dance floor. He declined to dance with Katie and soon made his apologies and left, together with his wife.
Kevin's sister stayed behind and she started to enjoy herself. She had only ever been allowed soft drinks before, but the delights of vodka and coke soon helped her to think that she was having a fantastic time.
After Henry had gone, everyone seemed to loosen up a lot more. The room was filled with loud chatter and frequent bursts of laughter. Katie was going around everyone, clinging onto Kevin and introducing him as, "My lovely lover boy!"
Kevin's sister had invitations to dance every time she sat down. After a second of vodka and coke, she felt less awkward and flung herself around with a freedom she'd never expressed before.
The evening turned into night, but no one was marking the passing of time.
Katie and Kevin went outside for some fresh air. Revellers were spilling out from the reception and a couple were in an amorous embrace.
"You're the pool manager here?" someone asked Katie.
"That's right!" Katie slurred, "We've got a little swimming pool and I love it! I'm always going in the swimming pool!"
A little group were gathering around them.
"That would be a great place to take some pictures!" a voice suggested.
"Katie, can you show us the pool?"
Katie's eyes widened as mischievous thoughts started to enter her mind.
"I can show you the pool!" she replied, brightly, "I hope that nobody falls in! I can do lifesaving, you know!"
Word was quickly passed inside, to say that the wedding party were going down to the swimming pool, to take pictures. Lots of the younger ones appeared outside, including Rachel and Kevin's sister. Kevin was sent to the security office, where an emergency key to the pool building was kept. The two security guards looked at each other, knowingly.
"We wondered how long it would be before Katie was going down to the pool!" one of them said.
Katie opened up the main doors to the building, and fumbled with the digits on the alarm system.
"That's it!" she announced triumphantly, as she switched on all the lights.
The little crowd quietened down as they filtered passed reception and gathered around the shallow end. The surface of the pool was completely flat but looked so cool and inviting.
Katie and Kevin stood together, held hands and posed for lots of pictures. The two bridesmaids joined them. The pool made a fine background behind them.
Then another voice piped up, "How about on the steps? Let's get a picture of you both on the steps! Dare you, Katie!"
Katie needed no second invitation. She had already been toying with similar thoughts and had just been waiting to see if anyone else suggested this first.
"Come on, lover boy!" Katie pulled Kevin by the hand towards the broad flight of steps into the pool. They both removed their shoes and there was a little splash as they both put their feet onto the first step. The hem of Katie's dress hovered over the water as it soaked into Kevin's socks and splashed around Katie's feet. They blinked as dozens of flashes went off.
"Next step!" Katie ordered Kevin. Water surged up the bottom of her dress, which started to spread out from her. Kevin's smart, perfectly pressed trousers were soaked nearly to the knees.
There were cheers and shouts of approval as many more pictures were taken.
"Deeper! Deeper!" someone shouted. Katie squealed with excitement.
The next step was thigh-deep. Katie tried to push her dress down into the water, but the folds of it resisted and tried to ride up her legs. The train was half in the pool as if being dragged there reluctantly.
It was inevitable that Katie would soon bounce off the last step and onto the pool bottom.
Kevin helped to pull her dress down with her, and as Katie stood waist deep it was as if her legs were surrounded by a huge marshmallow. Kevin's jacket was splashed and the bottom part gleamed bright with wetness, just like his trousers.
They embraced, held hands and hopped backwards and forwards. Katie could hardly move her legs, for the layers of her dress swirling around them.
"Shall we go right in?" Katie shrieked.
There could only ever be one answer to that. "Yes! Right in! Trash the Dress!" were some of the calls heard.
Katie and Kevin held both of each other's hands and plunged themselves down, Kevin to his shoulders and Katie right in over her head. She pushed up hard against his hands because it was very difficult to hold her head under. The dress seemed determined to float and streams of bubbles poured out of every bit of it.
After ten or fifteen seconds, Katie came up. As she stood up, a huge amount of water gushed down her front and back. The dress looked sodden. The front of it slipped and dropped below her breasts, showing the gleaming whiteness of her strapless bra, only partly covering her enticing curves below.
There were raucous whoops from the onlookers and a cry of, "You're a lucky lad, Kevin!"
Katie barely blushed, but yanked up the wet material as quickly as she could. "You all delete those last pictures!" she shouted.
"I will" someone promised.
Rachel was tugging on Kevin's sister's hand.
"Come on in, it's warm!" Rachel insisted. "It's a great laugh!"
Rachel let her go and then walked determinately down the steps herself. There were whistles and cheers. The delicate pink of Rachel's dress immediately turned a deeper hue where the water ran over it. She plunged forward off the bottom step and struggled to her feet, her dress clinging now as if it was compressed into her.
There was a huge splash as someone jumped in from the side. Then more splashes, it was a muffled thudding sound as smart suit after smart suit hit the pool. The girls were a bit more reluctant to go in. There was a squeal and then a scream as first one and then another of them were pushed off the poolside. Other ladies hurriedly ran behind the reception desk.
Katie did not notice much of what was going on, as she was preoccupied with keeping the front of her dress in place. She struggled to climb back up the steps. Her dress seemed to be impossibly heavy now, wrapped around her with wetness.
Everyone's wedding is memorable for all concerned. But Katie's wedding was a wet wedding and that made it even more memorable for her.
