3 Days in September--Friday: DaytimeStory by gungetankgirlPosted 8/8/20 301 views
This is part 3 of 4 and still setting everything up for part 4 and hopefully other future stories (assuming everyone doesn't hate it). I've marked it as coed as it is a story about a girl and a guy - but advanced warning that the messy part is on the guy.
Friday: - Daytime
Aaah Friday mornings, Callum's favourite day of the week. Dress down for work, night out ahead, Friday night football and he gets up early for a Maccies breakfast.
Well, by HE gets up early it's really Gregg. Gregg has a good job and a car in order to drive to work. Conveniently for Callum he has to drive through the city centre and so drops him off everyday, hence why Callum has time to get a coffee every morning and he still arrives at work early. Friday is even earlier for Maccies. Gregg only sits with him for a short time as he has most of his whilst driving, which does leave Callum on his own and very early for work. Not that he minds, he is very grateful of the lift everyday. Not having to buy a car is meaning he can save a decent amount of money each month.
Ooh, one more thing about Gregg before we go on, he has a chain. You know, like Connell. If you don't get the reference, don't worry. If you do get the reference, well it's just another reason why Gregg is better with girls.
So after his McMuffin he headed to, "A Latte Fun" (I reckon at least one person chuckled the first time around - you didn't this time did you?). He was disappointed to see that Sophie was not there.
He was standing waiting for his cappuccino., when he got a nudge in the back.
"Boo", it was Sophie, "I've been waiting for you, I'm out the back sorting orders today. Had to come in yesterday on my day off as well but that turned out to be good because Sally popped in. She's got her own club night"
Sophie handed Callum the flyer. It was called "Sweet dreams are made of Cheese". He soooo wanted to ask if it was the same person that named the coffee shop, but thought better of it.
"I know her DJ name is stupid, DJ Salloumi" Sophie continued, "It is clearly going to be really cheesy stuff but she said her aim is to make it really fun and a bit different to proper club nights. She gave me some free VIP tickets though and I reckon it might be quite fun"
Was Callum being asked out??? His thoughts last night were definitely more of Sophie, he really liked her. Even of those thoughts were then mingled with her being covered in beans and gunge - which was weird.
Well unfortunately not.
"Here's two for you, I don't know if you want to take a girlfriend maybe or boyfriend"
"No girlfriend" said Callum, "My flatmate will come though. Are you going?"
This was the point where Callum realised the world isn't perfect. Sophie was going and just with a friend. That was because her boyfriend had moved away about a month ago to a new job. But he was still her boyfriend. Even if the 30 minute chat they then had involved her moaning about him and how he was meant to come back every weekend, and has only come back for 2 out of 6 so far.
He did learn though that Sophie runs the coffee shop albeit it's her Dad's name on the lease. Her Dad owns a chain of Fish and Chip shops, well 3. The Codfather, the Codfather part 2.and Oh My Cod. The Codfather part 3 had to close, it didn't do very well.
Sophie worked in them when she was younger but didn't like stinking every night. When she was 19 her Dad had the opportunity of renting a shop in the city centre, and was going to pass it up as a fish and chip shop had tried before but failed. Sophie though presented a whole business plan to him for a coffee shop and he was that impressed with her he went for it. His parents were Italian after all. So Sophie's olive complexion is all natural and not a very good fake tan. He was only involved for the first 6 months and then left it all to Sophie. She's 23 now and completely running it herself albeit she has to give her Dad a cut which means she could probably earn more if she was manager at a Starbucks!
"So why are you always in here early on a Friday" queried Sophie
"Friday is Maccies breakfast day" was Callum's response, "Can't beat those hash browns"
"You mean you buy breakfast from elsewhere" with clear fake anger in Sophie's voice, "Oh that's the third strike"
She was chuckling and went on to say that she'll have to work out a way of making me use her coffee shop for breakfast instead. Whilst Callum is nice as we have said, his thought was of Sophie wearing some sort of kinky outfit, or bikini. That would defo draw him in. Thought in his head though, not out loud so that keeps him nice. He does fancy the pants off her after all.
"So see you tonight then, get your glad rags on" smiled Sophie, "Well jeans and a shirt for a guy, so easy for you"
"Got a new shirt last weekend, so I'll pull that out and new jeans too, Proper effort" Callum joked
"Oooh new stuff, even better" said Sophie, which Callum did think was a slightly odd response, "Guess I'll have to get glammed up to"
With that she winked, gave him a little peck on the cheek and said goodbye. Now that's definitely still flirty isn't it thought Callum, and her boyfriend really does seem like a jerk.
Work was boring, apart from the first 5 minutes when he walked in. Now Callum was usually early each day, and he still was today, but only 15 minutes early when he's usually at least 30 minutes if not more. As usual Emma was the only other person in from his department - he normally even beats her in.
"Morning Heinz", not Emma's usual greeting for him, "Beat you in today"
"Maccies breakfast on a Friday, Tigger" Callum smiled responding. He thought he may as well play along. More so now he knew Sophie had a boyfriend.
"Well ignoring the Tigger remark, which certainly isn't going to help you, getting in early everyday, I wonder if that might be considered brown nosing" Emma said that with a wink that's Callum's second wink of the morning as she walked away.
Callum had no chance of a response during the day but clearly knew she was going to be working on a way of getting him gunged. He was still pretty confident that people would vote for Emma though.
