I've been lurking around for a while and I've noticed there hasn't been much talk about cosplay wam recently.
Other than Mad Lover's Cosplay excellent work. Many of the cosplay wammers I've worked or collaborated with have been silent in the last year. Even one of the Japanese websites I used to frequent, usamilk.net has practically become a blank page (and all their previous stuff were pulled).
Is it just that there's not enough interest? Too expensive?
I'd like to find some producers/models interested in some customs. But I'd also like to gauge the community's input and on what they'd like to see .
For me personally, I'd love to see some more anime wamming, perhaps with Shigure from Kancolle, Kizuna AI, Hatsune Miku, Lucy Heartfilia, or even Star Guardian Lux (from LoL).

Thanks for the kind words.
We'd love to indulge you, but Anime cosplay isn't our thing- we focus on comic-book, film, and TV cosplay.
I can't speak for others as to why they're so quiet on the front, but if I were to venture a guess I'd say that perhaps the profits don't justify the costs in some cases? A lot of our cosplays are crazy expensive- thus why we only use certain substances with certain outfits. But if we go "all out" and trash one of those outfits with other types of substances...we basically have to start from fresh with that character (in terms of putting a new outfit together).
Thanks again for the nice compliments!
That makes a lot of sense. From that perspective, spending several hundred dollars out of pocket for a outfit, and completely trashing that outfit to cater to a small niche crowd of individuals isn't worth it.
There are even more subgroups of cosplayers with different interests. Anime/Video Games/TV/SciFi/Comics that it's impossible to please anybody.
I usually go with customs, because I can pay those costs up front and chose the outfit, the scene, and the mess. But finding a model interested in messing up a character she's never heard of is not easy.
Some of us are out here! Hi, long term cosplayer and wammer.
Cost is definitely some of the problem for me, as an amateur wammer, cosplay is actually not a cheap hobby, especially not to possibly ruin outfits with mess. This year hasn't been the kindest, so I've not had much cosplay work done either, only did one cosplay photoshoot as a whole for the year.
I'm maybe hopeful of being a part of a cosplay wam video in 2019, but I can't say more about that as yet, or even if it will definitely happen, depending on the studio.
I don't know personally if there's the interest from the community - but there's definitely the interest in being a part of a shoot along these lines from me

Messy Miss Marie, Leila, Jayce, Pattycake, and WAMTEC have done some. I routinely kick myself in the dick for not being able to get Patty's pink 'psychic' slime Psylocke video before it poofed...
True cos-makers (the ones that spend months, and take out second mortgages to do this) don't really want to turn around and destroy their work. In fact, many sell their works later on for hefty profits.
Hell, even if you try and get something basic off a Halloween site or Yandy (now that Halloween is over) you're still going to pay a decent chunk of change just to destroy something.
This is why customs exist, and some models have Amazon wishlists or the like on their profiles here.
It's impossible as a male cosplayer to find photographers who desire to hire me. They will gladly take a commission from me and let me pay for a shoot, but it's not like the gender reverse where people will pay for the product. So I can't justify spending money on a cosplay to spend money on w materials to spend money on a photographer for nobody to want the product. Especially when I can cut out two of the three and enjoy it all the same. Why ruin a cosplay when nobody will be there to appreciate the work
But that's true for this whole industry, and I can't blame the market for not demanding something I too have no demand for, only supply
My model Lum does a LOT of anime cosplay solo content but we haven't done a cosplay wam scene due to the cost of ruining costumes. She'd totally do it for a custom with the cost built into the quote though. Or maybe a group buy or something if enough people were I interested
Customs are a great way to get the wam/cosplay crossover, but it definitely adds to the cost quite a bit. Jayce and Ariel are always solid choices for your custom needs, and if you're willing to supply the outfit, it's at least worth asking if they'll take on a character they don't know.
But to answer your question, yes, the expense is likely the main factor. I'm sure there's plenty of folks who wouldn't mind seeing your wishlist of characters in messy situations, even if they don't know the series.
I have only done Wam in cosplay once and that was due to me retireing the costume so i covered it in poster paint from the supermarket the costume was hard to get on and was slightly water damaged so i wam going to replace it again anyway. But it was really fun and i may one day do it again
I'd love to do it but as a guy it's not as sought after for people to watch and price wise of some costumes. Just seems right to put them together though.
Love cosplay WAM and buy it nearly every time see it posted i the store. The cosplay mud wrestling matches Mostwam Charlotte produced were some of the best content I've ever seen on here, still can't believe we got to see Mia in a costume mud wrestling. I would think producers know we don't necessarily need high end expensive costumes and that better priced ones are fine.
Still hoping to get a Padme custom one of these days! Can't believe no wammers have seen that white outfit and hairstyle and seen it as a perfect wam opportunity!

Which reminds me, thanks for snagging Chocolate-Covered Croft! from our store! Hope you enjoyed!
And, yes, Padme in that outfit would be a fantastic "canvas" for all sorts of colored shenanigans! Hmmmm...I wonder if [name removed] is up to the task.
I'm sure she'd do an amazing job! And thanks for putting that video up on your store it's amazing. I can't wait to get "Lara Croft and the Temple of Goo!" as well. Do you have any plans to make your "Skin the Cat" series available? The mess in that video was incredible, I was subscribed to your Patreon for awhile because of it.

I'm definitely going to try to get Leila to do a video as Hatsune Miku now, that's an amazing idea, especially since she's almost exactly the same height and weight.
I've worked with her on getting an incredible Kill la Kill cosplay and a Harley Quinn in the past. I'd love to see a Hatsune Miku, Junko Enoshima, or a Kizuna AI if shes down for it.
