However, I do actually like the consistency and look of shaving cream, and the stickiness.
Anything with milk in it is out, as I don't want me or my partner to smell like vomit afterwards.
I've used cool whip in the past, which was ok, but it didn't really seem to stick to the skin that well.
I've used pudding in the past, and that seems to work pretty good, but it's a little too runny; it makes a hell of a mess, but doesn't seem to get that opaqueness nor "body" that would be ideal.
I've also used a combination of cake batter and icing mixed together, which worked well and looked great, but it was almost too darn greasy...tough to wipe out of our eyes.
I love the look of the pies used by Mostwam, but when I inquired privately about their recipe (back before they were banned banned from the umd, of course) I was told they wouldn't share it.
Who has suggestions? Now that I've got a partner who plays with me, I'd love to get the wam substance dialed in.
I'm not a total expert, and there are a lot more people on here who are far more qualified than I.but here's my favorite recipe after some trial and error. Frozen crust, baked and taken out of the tin when smashed. This helps the shatter/splatter effect. Fill the bottom with 2-3 cups of pudding (I prefer vanilla colored with food coloring, or this stuff if you can find it is amazing https://www.amazon.com/SNACK-Unicorn-Flavored-Pudding-Pack/dp/B07PPFKY9V ). The colors create a cool visual. Top with a generous mixture of cool whip and white frosting. Then they are ready.
A 16 oz container of cool whip and half a standard container of frosting is about the right mix. Couple warnings about this recipe. Too much pudding can cause the whip to just get "washed off". The frosting is also necessary because cool whip by itself tends to just fall off after a few seconds. The frosting helps it helps it stick. And that is no bueno. That's it!
Not sure what's available in the US, but would imagine that's it is available. You could try vanilla pudding as a base. Then topped with whipped cream (squirty or whipped yourself), however use the vegan variety as then you won't have the vomit smell. Just a thought.
I have absolutely fallen in love with fruit filling as a base, especially blueberry filling. The dark color contrasts well with the white of the cream, and it's especially humiliating because the syrup can ruin your clothes and the berries look great sliding down the victim's body or exploding in their hair. Not to mention the splatter effect it makes when a whole pie is smashed or thrown in someone's face.
I second the cool whip + frosting comment about topping I play around with the measurements depending on how thick I want it (more frosting = thicker), but in about 20 years of experimentation this has by far been the best combo I can think of, as far as getting the right mass, the right splatter and the right stickiness.
About the filling, I couldn't agree more about blueberries... when you can see the blueberries falling slowly through the face is extremly humiliating!!

Careful with fruity pie fillings, especially the canned ones, like cherry and blueberry! Do a test area on the skin (and hair if it's fair) to make sure the food colourings they add aren't strong enough to stain! You don't want to have to explain showing up for work looking like a smurf!

Can you share pics of the outcome? I can only find images of the pies themselves on your page. The way they hit matter a lot to me.

I don't have any from myself...
However, the goo is the same used in passa ou repassa tv program. I learned from there actually...
I don't want to end blue, thank you for the advise!!
Filling, can't beat the quick and easy factor that comes along with pudding IMO. I've been substituting cake batter for a while now though. Homemade meringue is awesome but the amount of time it takes putting that part together definitely isn't!
My recipe comes down to a proportion of 2 cups of powdered sugar to 1 tablespoon of meringue powder. Then you slowly add warm water (literally 1 tablespoon at a time) until you get the desired consistency. You can add a touch of vanilla flavoring if that's your thing also. You mix as big a batch of it as you want, using that ratio of sugar to meringue powder. I used an electric mixer, cos whisking that would be a pain, but it's possible. It comes out very sweet and very sticky. Enjoy!
And as a bonus, it looks a lot like creamy white shaving cream. I make mine a little thin, in order to get a good splat, but it's very sticky as well.
