I have heard that immersing cans of shaving foam in warm water makes the shaving foam more fluffy and goes further. Does this work? At the moment I can get 4 nice sized pies out of one can. Would love to get more pie for my pound.
IME it does help. I will fill the tub (or sink) with a few inches of warm but not hot water and let the cans sit while I do the setting up. I don't know the exact science behind it but it seems to help get all the cream out of the can.
It does work and it'll come out faster too. Results vary, but I'd guess at maybe getting 20% more volume out this way.
Depending on how many you've got, fill a sink or bucket with hot water from the tap and leave them in it for about 15 minutes. Needs to be deep enough that they float, so you heat as much of it as possible.
Take them out and give them the usual good shake before using.
As you're in the UK, I'd recommend tescos cheap one (50p) and asdas blue one (£1) You might know them already. If you do, you'll notice the difference. Tescos shoots out maybe 3ft after heating up and is less runny. Asdas is normally slow but with a really good nozzle for volume. After heating it's a lot quicker and you seem to get more too.
It definitely works for me. I haven't measured the difference in the amount you eventually get out of a can, but there's a major difference in HOW FAST it comes out - this is a significant consideration if you're planning to empty many cans to create a big pile of shaving cream.
Yep, I have had good success with this, I fill my bathroom sink with almost hot water and put the cans in and let them soak while I set up. The foam comes out faster and there is more volume to it. Have fun.
Will cosign on all of this. It definitely works! I'll leave cans in warm water for about 15 minutes beforehand and then I'm good to go. When I'm using 50 cans for a big session it makes a huge difference!

Funniest thing is I warm literally everything except foam
yep it works. got some warm water on the stovetop. turned water off and placed the cans in. took few minutes and plenty warm and just out of the nozzle.
Thanks everyone. Going to give it a go. Not sure when my next messy session will be. Husband is off work at the mo so that's curtailed my foamy fun for a while.

Obviously don't make the water too hot...the cans use a propellant which is somewhat flammable, and we don't want to gift the tabloids 'Man flees naked covered in shaving foam after setting house on fire in bizarre fetish gone wrong'
It does work I do it every morning before shaving. However, the can is a pressure vessel and can, if heated for too long or too high a temperature, rupture or even explode. Common sense is the rule here. That said the whole WAM thing tends not to be about common sense in the first place.
