Those yankee hipsters over at vice have done their monthly dip into subcultures and did a short doc on custom fetishes. There's WAM and a bunch of other stuff shown here. Haven't heard of these producers like mind (not sure if theres a specific reason for that) but yeah interesting behind the scenes stuff anyhow.
I mean, I think the biggest takeaway here is that legit producers smoke way more pot than I do. (Can any of the pros around here confirm? Maybe that's why my shoots always go haywire, and their biggest problem is a stray sock.)
I found this fascinating, even as someone who only does this stuff on the side. If any of us thought our cleanup was bad, at least we're not cleaning up 80 friggin cakes, jamming a dropcloth into a trash can using bungee cords. Cripes.
Also, who has like eight different fetishes AND thousands of dollars to spend on a custom?! Those white sock people must be loaded, amirite...
It works for them because it sounds like they do literally *anything* at a high cost. No producer specialising in only WAM could do this because there isn't enough 'high end' business to survive without 'sell through' (selling the media on to the larger market of subscribers and downloaders), incredible efficiency and high turnover of media. Individuals who will pay 'tens of thousands' are as scarce as shit from a rocking horse in this game because they know they can get it done for hundreds - or they do it themselves.
That guy was obviously a very high functioning stoner You can't be vague about this stuff.
I'm confused...so one individual commissioned the entire video for his (yeah, I assumed his gender there) personal viewing, or was that a custom but something they'll sell to the general public?
I loved the production assistant's facial expressions, especially when he was trying to convince them he was down with anything but wasn't entirely aware of what their filming plans involved.
...Totally hate the toy-smashing scene, though. Go ahead and call me judgmental but there's something cruel about smashing up toy cars and then shoveling them into trash bags when there's some kid in need who isn't going to find anything half that cool under his Christmas tree this year.
My biggest takeaways here, inspired by hooliham's awesome comments:
1) Apparently stray socks are a HUGE boner-killer, rendering the final product completely unwatchable. 2) This studio's garbage men are probably scratching their heads at the clean-up, bungee-wrapped trash cans and all, or they're having a good laugh right now. 3) Kinda wondering if this was commissioned by one mega-rich fetishist or eight who all pitched in for the video. Inquiring minds want to know.

8 different fetishes is something really to aspire to haha. Thought I was odd with two. Some more highlights from the vid. The producers also making a video with a girl covered in cream making cereal which seems like the most surreal WAM vid ever made. One of the girls saying "covered in cake today, covered in cum tommorrow", a pretty bleak humour moment. And the girls asking the journo if he has any kinks and he rather awkwardly replies he likes a bit of BDSM which seems to give him up points with the girls.
They're actually shooting a scene for me later today with Ella Nova. Their WAM content is available on UMD under the company Custom Fetish Videos. Yes, their scenes can be quite pricey, depending on your tastes, but everything they do is specifically catered to the customers' wishes. Without naming names, there are some producers who may disregard particular quirks and specifics of a script because it might be too tough to re-sell, or they'd rather do something that's more "their style." Not so with the good folks at Anatomik. There's very little they won't do if you're willing to pay for it. Personally, I'd rather pay more knowing that I'm going to get exactly what I want in a scene. (Also, props to Charlotte, Jayce, and Aaron from Custom Fetish Scenes for always delivering the goods in that regard.) Violet is always super friendly and great with Model recommendations if needed. Another reason for the cost is that they work primarily with adult film stars, many of whom have contracted agency fees. From my observations, they seem to operate more like the business model of an adult video company.
How many people, after hearing all the talk of "full coverage" before shooting the cake scene, were like, "That's nowhere near full coverage! What kind of amateurs are you people? Most of their faces are clean. I can still tell them all apart!" It really reinforces the specificity of individual kinks when someone's multi-thousand-dollar custom video can't hold a candle to numerous videos you can buy for under $10.
I also hated the toy destruction scene for the same reasons mentioned above by writingismylife. I realize that many people have an issue with WAM for similar reasons, but I question whether starving kids would derive much nutritional benefit from eating an entire sheet cake. Is it a good trade to be slightly less malnourished but well on your way to type 2 diabetes?
I think the documentary host guy was really just interested in smoking weed. He seemed entirely too squeamish about the subject matter. There are so many more alarming fetishes...
VICE came and shot a documentary with MPV on Hollywood's Quicksand Fetish. All things considered they actually did a nice job. Dave, Nessie, Fred, all appear before the camera. I'm standing behind the camera man during every shot to avoid any chance of appearing.
