I just noticed that one of my favorite users deleted her account last night after being harassed by another user of unveiling personal information of her, since she didn't want to meet up anymore. I don't understand why men often are so mad when women don't do what they want to. I think UMD first of all is a fun community and save haven where we can enjoy our fetish. So why on earth are men so obsessed and mad when they don't get their will? I heard this from many other female users in the past how they were threaten or harassed and it makes me feel sad and upset.
For the strong" guys out there: females, also on UMD, are human beings and no objects. Treat them with respect like you want to be treated or get the hell out of here!

That's exactly what happened to Missie. Apparently after some time, the guy got frustrated with her hesitance to meet up, and out of anger threatened to share her pictures on other sites where she might get noticed. Obviously he's been banned from doing anything at this site. I have contacted Missie via email and offered to extend any help that I can.

This isn't a problem here, its the whole internet. Ever read comments on news stories? Ive never seen such mean spirited and evil things written about people.
Its sad that a few bad apples spoil the bunch, especially here.

The account is still here but it is gagged.
I hate to sound like a dick here, but I think you are soft-pedaling this. His actions are outright extortion and that's a felony everywhere. If it was me, I'd be turning this piece of shit's info over to law enforcement immediately

Well he's gone now. I made his account invisible with all social presence blocked and removed, so I could get more information before I finally deleted his account. But he removed his own account before I could, on the same day November 25 (you can see this on admin notes). Sometimes I don't know if I'm publicly giving TMI or not enough info.

Right? Personally, if the user left over something like this, I don't think I'd want a thread up talking about the user. This just draws MORE attention to them, even though they left. I tend to be a live and let live person too...until someone threatens or harms someone else.
Once shit like this happened, I'd have sent that shit to the authorities too. 1. It's in the harmed user's best interest. 2. It would cover my ass as the site owner (due diligence etc).
This is extremely frustrating to read after all the talk we had about making things safer for women. I am glad that MM took the action he did. In these situations, in my mind there is no such thing as TMI against an asshole. Victims should be protected 100%. In fact, I would say that there should be an asshole pinned topic where such people can be listed. There are probably others that this person has harassed that have just stopped lurking or stopped coming to the site instead of deleting their accounts. That when seeing the assholes name on a ban list might prompt them to come back knowing that action is taken.

Sadly this stuff will happen from time to time when you've got a site with thousands of people interacting every day. I fight to protect my users constantly, but I am not prepared to get into legal wrangling over every personal spat that happens on this site, or I wouldn't have time to run the site. My due diligence is getting that stuff off of the site and keeping it off, not getting down in the weeds on every divisive comment left by a sexually frustrated visitor.
Besides IP addresses and stuff, you basically have as much information as I do. The situation with Missie occurred mostly off of this site. The pictures that he threatened her with were not transmitted to him via UMD. I don't have either of their real addresses or real names or anything. Most of their conversation happened off-site, too. All I know is that right before the blowup, they were friends on here, happily cyber-dominating each other on inbox. But they both left the site immediately after she wouldn't meet and he blew up with that stupid comment. I made my notes, tracked my IP addresses, and I've moved on to dealing with the next set of issues.
We're all upset when this stuff happens, but we must be realistic about how much of the world we can fix. If anyone believes that I should do more, legally, every time anything like this happens between users, I am all ears for any advice. But from my perspective it's only realistic that we get him off, and move on.
Tying you up and causing misery months after they make a stupid comment and aren't even here anymore is exactly what the trolls want us to do. I say stop feeding them.

This is part of the strategy of gagging and neutering an account first before fully deleting it. It's not "soft-pedaling." The account remains here as a honey trap where the user can do nothing except physically log in. When he realizes that, the user normally attempts to sign in from his other devices / computers / locations, which allows us to log more IP addresses and other computer signatures. Once his account really is removed, we can block and track ALL of those IP addresses and we're much more likely to be able to prevent his return. I never go into this much detail about my daily operations to protect visitors. But otherwise people will assume nothing is being done, even those who have access to this information. It's pretty busy back here.

Oh I agree with everything you just said. My only addition/stipulatoin is that if I had the feeling that something was going to become violent, dangerous, or seriously illegal, I'd be contacting the biller. You can send the user and the e-mail address etc, and THEY will have their personal information so long as they've made a purchase. Then they can contact the authorities if something serious is going down.
That's all I'm saying. I love you man, you know this. I could never do what you do, and never with the calm, cool, and compassion that you do so. We got different backgrounds too. I've worked in a lot of fields where I was not only urged to report things, but sometimes legally obligated or I could be held responsible myself.
