UK--Best cake for sploshing? by cakebattercustard

So it's my birthday next month, and someone has agreed to smash a cake in my face for it...

My question is, what's the best cake to get in the UK for this? I've seen some AMAZING videos but they're all US based, and I feel like going to Tesco and buying a generic cake won't cut it.

The Black Forest Gateau looks good, or I was going to suggest a trifle as well. (As it happens in this regard the Tesco ones are rather good.)

Let it defrost for a good few hours and you're good to go!

While I've never sploshed with this cake or sploshed at all in about 5 years, if childhood memories of this cake are reliable I can certainly imagine it would be perfect for the task at hand!

The best cakes I've used are the ones from Iceland, the chocolate cakes and gateau's are amazing, just let them defrost for a few hours or if you want them really squishy and borderline falling apart then overnight.

I'd recommend grabbing an extra one to sit on before you take a cake to the face, it'll enhance the experience grately.

Candy's not wrong... take it from a Sploshing pro (her) and a very experienced cake-sitter (me), these cakes are the best! Like they were made especially for WAM!! It's worth having a Costco membership just for those cakes.....
