Hey guys! So ever since I started producing, I've received a lot of PMs, DMs and msgs from fans asking about how I make my slime. Especially in the last month with Karin's Hot Clips scene. So instead if answering the same question in private over and over, thought it might be good to post publically about it!
Ok, my slime ingredients are simple: cheap cake mix and old-fashioned oats. Not regular oatmeal, which is gritty and problematic during cleanup. Old-fashioned oats contain larger pieces and are never a problem with washing out. I also mix in some eggs just to be safe and aid in the smoothness of the slime, but it may not be necessary
A "regular sized" slime in my book would include 4 boxes of cake mix, 4 eggs and half of the big 42oz canister of oats. Add in the water slowly, about 8 cups worth. The oats will thicken gradually, so you'll need to experiment with what feels right to you! As for color, I used McCormick food dye. For a bright green, use a whole 1oz bottle. Mix it all up with an egg beater...
So here's the interesting secret I've learned. When slime sits in the bucket for 24 hours plus, it begins to "go bad". It will begin to smell slightly pungent, but with this process, the slime will begin to rise and become somewhat frothy. Wait longer and you may see it rise up and over the bucket! This is the slime you see in the Karin Hot Clips scene, Angie's 2 scenes, as well as the preview pics for Chloe's slime-first scene
In the winter, I was able to push 3 days with this old slime. During the summer, it's a hard 2 days. Let your nose be the judge for what 'too pungent' smells like. And FYI- I haven't had a model complain about a smell so far, even with it getting in their mouths!
Interesting, although I've never had an issue with "regular" oatmeal. I will say oatmeal naturally "thins" out the slime, all things being equal, so I like to do oat-free slime more often these days as I prefer that thicker coverage (personal taste).
I think I went 3 days (??) one time as I had a cancellation and just kept the slime around until the next shoot. It was SS39, a new model, and I felt SO bad as the slime smelled RANK. (Although she didn't really complain.) It would "rise" over time and I'd have to keep stirring to keep it from overflowing and get the air out.
Toshia used to miss shoots and I'd keep the leftover slime for her makeup dates. She WOULD complain about how bad it smelled.
I won't do that anymore. Better to just dump it out than disgust the model.
