Very happy with how the scene came out! There was definitely a bit of a learning curve on the pie pod, but we got a bit more accurate each round. I was particularly excited about the two color slime pour we got to pull off, because as a video guy, I'm a sucker for artsy stuff like that lol.

Just a few ideas, which maybe you're already thinking about. I've thought about what it would take to build one, but you're an absolute rockstar for going out and doing it.
Again, apologies if you've already thought about this. I feel like I'm telling Elon Musk how to build a rocket:
- the original had lower velocity than yours, but lofted the pies higher on more of a ballistic trajectory. If you look at the original, they installed the "hands" on adjustable arms attached to the primary catapult arm, presumably for fine-tuning.
- two factors are crucial for replicating results: bungee tension and pie weight. You can use something like a fish scale for the former, and a kitchen scale for the latter
- weighing the legs of the launchers down with sandbags might reduce recoil (as long as the PVC can absorb the load without breaking)
- hopefully you can get to the point where you're releasing the pies rapid fire. That's my favorite part of the pie pod - it's like a gunge tank but with pies. Once it starts it doesn't stop until it's empty. If you want to be really fancy you could use some sort of linear actuator to control release by push-button.
- if aluminum tins are too projectile-like, you might use these deep-dish plates.
