Has anyone got an easy method for making large volumes of porridge? Does it have to be cooked out or are there other ways of doing it without the cook, cool, pour!?
just use hot water - you need 3kg porridge per bucket filled to roughly 8 litres. I stand and do them in a production line at the kitchen sink stir each kg pack in as you add the hot water. Make sure it's already hot but not scalding as porridge really holds the heat for a long time
not at all if you use the right temperature water. 3kg per 8 litres will thicken just from the amount of oats
If you make it too hot then just keep stirring every 10 mins or so for about half an hour or if it's really thick you can stir in a bit of cold (watch out for the three bears )
Anyone got the video from the 1980s British tv programme game for a laugh where Jeremy Beadle got a cement mixer full of porridge tipped over him in a bath?
