Used to see lots of wam scene alerts here(some where fake) now seems they have all but stopped.

Don't think there's that much on TV any more, no. I thought the peak era for TV wam scenes was about 1979/80/81 ish in the UK.

i think the more as wam grows, which is GOOD for us messy lovers , you will find the more it fades in the mainstream tv and whatnot. It is becoming the new "trend" for new age millenials and "hipster" types trying new sex stuff! I know I have stumbled across my roomate and a girl made a video and it was WAM....and i was like "holy shit!" and it was HER IDEA. Not even knowing of this huge fetish she has! So, i think as it grows in the mainstream porn, it will fade in the mainstream tv, etc.

Well I wrote repeatedly to every prominent Hollywood studio and producer a couple of years ago, politely asking them to put more messy content into their movies and shows so that I could masturbate to it.

So if the number of mainstream WAM scenes has fallen since then, it's not my fault!

I always figured wam alerts died out after more producers got involved. When we all started out here there were only a handful of active producers, so wam alerts mattered much more.

No. There are definitely a lot of people who like mainstream scenes more than producer WAM, and pay attention to them.

I do think we might be missing more of them just because mainstream technology and viewing habits have shifted away from large satellite & cable packages / TV listings / recording devices to whatever bits of content some streaming site drops into the slop bucket. (The example I always use is Jerry Springer: I know there have been Springer messy scenes not noted here during the last 10 years that we would've been all over in the '90s or early '00s.)

And if I do hear about a scene, it's a lot harder for me to capture than it was a decade ago, before I cut the cord. If a scene eventually turns up on disc I can buy or copy it, but a lot of things (even mainstream US stuff) doesn't get released that way now. If something's on Youtube, that's fairly easy, but even so I've had a dozen different sites or apps for download those clips quit working. If it's on some proprietary Flash player on a website in Brazil or India, that's fuckin' hard -- there are scenes where I've sent links to wambob or wamtec and even they couldn't pry them loose.

But we still hear about a lot of the international telenovela and Survivor scenes, so I feel like the "WAM alert" mechanism still works to some extent.

Between fads and changing technology, I think the WAM alert has become obsolete.

First, the fad. Mainstream entertainment goes through fads. This is not controversial. While pies are an easy source of comedy, tastes have changed. Now there's a lot of cringe comedy.

Also, with just about every frame you could watch available on some video site, the need for a WAM alert is practically non-existent. With a little Google-Fu, you can find almost any pie scene ever broadcast. Like, share, subscribe, rinse, repeat.
