Well, when I was 8 or 9, I found YCDTOTV on our brand new cable system & caught the original airing of the S2 episode where Christine gets pied by Les. And I thought that was the greatest thing ever. Then I had to wait months to see it again.
Not sure what 8-year-old me would've done if I'd been able to watch content made by.... future me. (Probably exploded. Or broken the multiverse.)
Well, I guess what I was trying to explain in my long, anecdotal story was that my tastes in WAM are not terribly different or more "extreme" from the older members on this forum even though I'm from a much younger generation that had access to Wet and Messy content on Youtube from a young age. I generally prefer content from producers like PieZone or the great content that you create Rich, that is not full-on pornography and is more traditional slapstick fun and mess.
I really appreciate everybody's responses. I really don't have much to add because I think you're all right: Different people will obviously respond differently to the proliferation and availability of wam material, especially since we all have different personalities and cultures and histories. It's apparent that some people (maybe a minority) are attracted to only the wam itself, while for others the context and taboo and personal moments of discovery take on a huge significance. If one is in the latter group, then I can see how a ton of available wam can actually make it less taboo and therefore less stimulating, but if you're in the former group, then I guess the opposite would be true and more wam would be more enticing.
One point that I heard that I have to debunk for the 10,000th time though is that wam is getting more hardcore. It is not, not on a percentage basis. So while while the opportunities for discovering wam are much greater, and may result in more people getting into it sooner and in more varied or intense ways, I think the overall balance of the types of preferences generally stays the same.
I wish every forum on the net (and group of people in general) was full of such insightful people who actually think about things. Regardless of how things move forward, I'm honored to be going through it with yall.
That first time the point when I got into wetlook and messy had been seared into memory at around the age of five. I was watching a bunch of kids (all older than me) playing in an open fire hydrant some long ago summer. There were a few girls wearing nice dresses and shoes, and they weren't supposed to get wet. But the boys dragged each one in, soaking them completely.
Thats been a bit over 50 yrs ago. When it comes to all the possible interests out there, everyone tends to be the same and sometimes have the same basic questions. What I mean is, this isn't specific to just wetlook or wam. If we can accept this, then maybe human nature is universal. The only things that seem to change in this context is the technology. When I was growing up, before the internet, my only sources of wetlook were either in print or on the TV, but after 5 decades, I can see the changes that time brings. New tech showed me I wasn't the only one into this. Whats going to happen tomorrow? No one knows but I would bet that when everyone gets there, they probably couldn't live without whatever it is they come out with.
As for models, models don't really change. (Human nature) The way I see it is if the model wants to work, we can offer them plenty of work and opportunities to travel if they like working with us. If not, I can certainly find other girls who will. There was always those who won't work or say they will do it for some astronomical amount in a polite way to say no. This I believe will never change (human nature) The only thing I can say with certainty is, at some point, our production will come to an end and we will close the store, when I get to the point when I can no longer continue.

And on another tangent you raised, I also remember the days of Victoria's Secret (and Frederick's of Hollywood) catalogs that were fun to go through. Those, and 99% of all printed catalogs, no longer exist. It doesn't make sense to pay the printing costs, just stick the photos and ordering information on a website, send an email once a week (or more) to the email list you've built and you're done, at MUCH less expense.

Personally I prefer to be a fly on the wall and see some spontaneity and I am not interested in being pandered to. So....the future of wam can be uncertain the more common and less spontaneous it gets.
You and I are of much the same mind on that - and of similar ages too, I suspect - late 60s here. As things have gone to the occasional and highly prized find, to the ubiquity of today, what excites me has become much more narrow, and spontaneity/candid - plus the woman enjoying/having fun - are a large part of it.
Unfortunately, as you probably know as well as anyone - the "political correctness" society of today is making spontaneous/candid harder and harder to find - we're going backwards in that regard.
We need to bring back pie gameshows in the US for 18+ like Brazil.
I'm convinced there was a WAMer in Japan that was high-up in show business that used to push pie games in the idol shows. They stopped very suddenly a few years ago and I wonder if he finally retired or something. I miss those shows very much.

Not that it is a bad thing, but seeing a pie fight with a bikini girl on the Richard Bey, or the old Battle Of The Network Stars dunk tank (Before the world became all PC and now if you like to dunk a girl with big tits your sexist, but Ellen can be sexist with men because she likes girls, but I digress LOL ) Seeing a pretty girl pied or a Hot Mom in a bikini pied used to be "rare" and we weren't as critical of pictures, we were just happy to see them! Movie clips from the old messyfun website were gold back in 96-97. Hell I remember finding this sight back when it was still "Underground" around 97-98. What I mean is our fetish has gone more mainstream now, there are a million download stores with paid models willing to get pied or dunked for a price. So yes it's amazing to see, but the "innocence" if that word is applicable for a fetish like this, but yes, searching for hours on the message boards, waiting for a picture to download with dial up was fun and the anticipation. WAMTEC, Aquatapes and now Angelfan have served me well in introducing the pie fetish to girls from my past and now wife etc. I think the next wave of WAM fans have it "easier" today, because the fetish is now so highly specialized and readily available. Sorry for the rambling, I never usually do that, but as someone who has been into WAM since the early 1980's (Yes, Mud wrestling, YCDOTV, dunk tanks at carnivals, pie throwing booths when attractive women used to do it with no worries of feeling "exploited") I felt I had to share .
I came here to say this! I wonder how the readily available infinite (well, not infinite, but you know what I mean) gungings will shape peoples reaction to it. The scarcity of this kind of thing growing up definitely seemed to make it all the nore potent and my reaction to it all the more intense. It wasn't scarce in that i guess people were ginged pretty often on telly but you' had to wait and hope to catch it (and as ive said before i couldn't even watch gunge with others in the room). Certainly anything 'sploshy' from an adult-only or 'porn' perspective was mainly made up in my head. Seeing 'Splosh!' for the first time in FHM magazine while in town with mates....i nearly came/exploded/died on the spot.
Still...now i can see someone gunked by clicking a button on my phonr and it hasn't gone away. Just different I guess.
