Regarding the user dalamar is referring to, I also don't believe said person should have had to be the "most-blocked" person in order to be removed, because frankly his comments had been reprehensible from the get-go of that other situation. I've noticed how quickly harsh comments certain politicians get taken care of, when frankly the rhetoric this person was spouting has proven to be more dangerous to various communities. Hopefully things like this are dealt with differently in the future, without feeling like it has to be "tolerated" to a certain point.
All that said, I appreciate the hard work put into running the site, and I've enjoyed being a more active member of the WAM community and look forward to a fun 2023 (I'll be busier and probably less active).

Like I replied earlier, and as I said publicly when I banned him, it was community reports, blocks, and his record that got him banned. I listen to the mods and the community and I take advice from it all, and it all informed my decision to get rid of the guy. The fact that nobody can just accumulate bans forever, and that we step in and take action on moral grounds, is the whole point of this thread.
He was one person. All other social networking sites seem to roll out the red carpet to tens of thousands of actual harassers and bullies, and force their members to rely on the block button, but for some reason we get demonized for just one guy who we already removed!
If you have an issue with how the whole thing shook out, then please read the threads again. All the information is there, and I am not interested in dragging this issue into 2023.

Hence why I hope any situation like this is handled differently moving forward, so that it wouldn't be dragged out at all. And trust me...I read those threads and have no desire whatsoever to do so again.
Anyway, hopefully lessons have been learned and here's to a happy 2023!

Yes the solution was to get more community participation in flagging and downvoting, which goes hand in hand with the auto-bury and auto-ban. I also outlined several other key points in the wrap up thread. Now on with the party!

WAMOptimist, we have to be more diligent at down voting things. Or else how else will people know that action needs to be taken. If no one complains, the mods have no choice but to think the behavior is acceptable.

We listen to that but also, the person's record and past actions are all taken into account. Not sure if you missed that part

I did not miss anything. Just like I did not miss whom was missing.
MM's mod rules (which are in the ToS, link at bottom of page) are that anything not clearly cut and dried (like piracy or kids or wrong gender tags) should be referred to MM for decision. Speaking for myself as a producer of almost entirely fully clothed WAM, MostWam were my biggest competitor, so there was a clear and obvious conflict of interest if I were to have waded in publicly, which could have cast doubt on the impartiality of any action I took. I was in contact with MM behind the scenes, and flagged multiple posts for him to look at.
I said: Also funny during a certain topic all the mods except you and Filthy were noticeably absent.

Again, not talking about the Leon situation in my responses. As a community we need to do better. Have a happy new year.
