We've recently shot a few scenes in white outfits where the girls' clothes didn't survive their gungings unscathed, even after multiple runs through the washing machine. In particular we have two pairs of white jodhpurs, one worn in mud, one filled with tomato soup, that while now "clean", as in fresh and no residual gunge smell, are also definitely no longer "white". We also have a collection of once-white shirts, t-shirts and polo-shirts that have suffered the same fate.
First thought is to either get some washing machine dye and dye them dark blue or black - there's a reason the Hall staff official uniforms are dark! - or sell them "as is".
But before we try either of those options, would anyone be interested in seeing a girl getting gunged, or possibly going into the mud, wearing an outfit that while it still fits perfectly, is slightly stained from previous gungings that haven't completely washed out?
For anything previously white that got stained try an overnight soak in diluted bleach solution, then as hot a wash as they will take - much cheaper than dye and worth a go - only thing i haven't been able to save with this method was a nylon/swimsuit material in white that was stained with paint. Any other fabric has a higher hope
Back on the specific topic though, I do use things that are a bit past perfect now and then and I probably wouldn't even notice in someone elses download unless it was pointed out it's not realllly meant to be that colour
We recently had to finally get rid of one particularly abused swimsuit (paint, mud, gross wamming...the works) for those same reasons -it was just too worn out for another go. When you saw her in it, though, you knew you were with a girl who liked her filth. Huge turn-on.
Very interesting results so far, thanks for all the votes! Its been neck and neck throughout the poll with only one or two votes separating the positions.
Still a few days to go but at this stage I'm inclined to think we'll do a "gunged in stained clothes" scene and then see how many member signups we get when we release it, and how many sales it generates in the download store - like last Halloween's mud scene, we might release this to download even while it's still in the Member Lounge, to better judge the market feedback.
Don't worry if you prefer only pristine outfits in the mess, that will still very much be our main line product, but if stained gungings sell, we will do more as a sideline.

Could give it a try, ta for the tip! Though I'm partly intrigued by the idea of dying things, see how effective it is and what colour things would end up - apparently black dye gives a midnight blue effect on some things, which would be interesting to do to a wedding dress once we've gunged it past the "can wash clean again" point. I've generally found it's stuff with elastane in it that never comes fully clean - we originally noticed it on white nurses belts, the rest of the uniform came up like new, but the white belts go grey and won't come bright white again.

Because most of our outfits are strong colours anyway, a lot of things can be gunged again and again without showing - disco pants and hotpants seem to be able to take gunging after gunging and still come up like new, and of course boilersuits and overalls are designed to take that kind of treatment. But with the white items in question, the staining is fairly obvious and not even - you can see that areas have come clean where other bits haven't.

That's a thought! Though TBH we'd probably only do that in a sponsored scene, as I've still a mind to dye the clothes after they've been re-gunged and washed out again. But I have had the idea for a while of, once they've had a few standard gungings, dying one of our wedding dresses black, and having one of the girls wear it into the mudbanks and then cut herself out of it at the end, possibly cutting it down a bit first - cutting skirt off just above her knees to make it a short dress, removing the sleeves, that kind of thing, before finally cutting herself completely out of it, ending in just her swimsuit. Still very much just an idea at this stage though.

Yep, I can well imagine! TBH I'm imagining that Rosemary in stained jodhpurs, wearing them into a second massive gunging, will look rather hot too.

We're working on something that may speed up our mud releases - watch this space!
Meanwhile, the poll is now closed, interesting final result, 43 for stained and 33 for must always be pristine. Based on that, we'll definitely go ahead and shoot an experimental scene in stained clothes and see how it sells. If it does well, we may do more. Again, watch this space!
