As some of you know, I've been working through the old DV tapes, now I've finally managed to get them out of storage and have some time, and start remastering old videos. A trip down memory lane was inevitable and started with a piece of footage where Lauren whips out a Sony Ericsson phone with a potato camera to photograph Fi and La.
I was trying to remember when GungeGirls actually started and had to employ the use of the WayBack machine to see the site booted up in November of 2002, making the site now 21 years old. That would actually put its birthday at around now, as the first thing I shot was in the summer of that year - although I believe it was post- Sept 11. I know it was before October, though.
And yes, that was Comic fucking Sans. I left it as Comic Sans for a long time as it irritated the hell out of a graphic design friend at the time. All I can say to anyone of that vintage is... I'm sorry.
So, that's a fun fact. GG is old enough to drink in America now.
This brings back alot of memories for me, I remember the splash screens, especially the one with Lucy Zara on. Definitely conjures up seeing some very impressive gunging.
For me GungeGirls was a part of the changing world of WAM, and would definitely be included in the WAM Hall of fame.
And oh yes, many a designer has ended up in those long jackets that tie at the back due to comic sans
GungeGirls was one of the first WAM sites i discovered and it blew my mind! I remember photos from the early days of Lucy Zara in a nurse outfit getting Naomi K messy that is still indelibly etched in my memory! Lots of custard, lots of gunge over some gorgeous women... what more could we ask for!
In a world where there is a lot of competition, GungeGirls was, and still is my all time favourite producer. It was the first site that I frequented after years of watching clips TV gungings, and had so much talent working there as well. Very fond memories. Remember being caught out watching the Amber custard intro in my University library once by some female students I didn't realise were sat on a bank of desks behind me!
I remember finding Gunge Girls in the mid to late 2000s when I first got inquisitive about wam (probably before I even knew the term wam!) Their photos & videos were just amazing and definitely contributed to the solidification of this being my kink. Thank you for your contribution to the scene over these 21 years.
I be showing my age by saying I remember all of these versions - Sadly in the very early days I had no means to make purchases - I only had home internet access Via my Dreamcast games console untill around 2004 but Ive certainly lined the GG pockets over the years when I was finally in a position to actually store pics and vids !!
Keep up the great work and lets all hope for some lost gems
I remember your early days, doesn't seem like two decades ago, where has all the time gone?
Autumn seems to be the season for launching WAM sites, we have an anniversary of our own coming up, though not quite old enough to drink booze in the US.

I think the Brazil outfit might be lost to time, and that was on a potato cam!

Oh. My. God!
SlapstickStuff said: Congrats Noise! SlapstickStuff is getting on up there too, not old enough to drink yet tho....
Can't be far behind - pretty sure we're of the same vintage!
GungedHairFan said: At one point wasn't there some sort of flash game on the site where you did like a slot machine thing to advance picture of a model getting messy?
Wow. I had completely forgotten about that! What I wanted was to do a video version - a super smooth one. I could probably do it now!

Here's to 21 more years!
Must be close to drinking in the UK? At least joining the army...

They might be in the second box of DV tapes...

UK drinking - we're 18 this year, our sites are finally old enough to drink in pubs and look at their own content, even the kinky stuff.
I remember the montage video set to the music 'one way or another' (can't remember the name of the song) with clean models to start with and then clips of them getting messy/slimed
One of the first vids and best vids that I can remember when I first got into wam
I just found those. That was a bananas week of my life. I'll redo them at some point.

It's amazing how many people remember that and the impact it had. I can't use it due to copyright (It was "One Way Or Another by Blondie). Essentially, it was an editing exercise but one I really enjoyed putting together in rudimentary software. I do have it here and will uprate it to HD but I can't put it out
