I'm lucky enough that I recently rented a field which has a very muddy ground spring in it. I'm hopeful it will stay wet all summer long, enabling plenty of potential muddy opportunities. So far all I've done is stuck my boot in it, but confirmed that it is at least knee deep and I don't think I've found the deepest part yet. I'm absolutely desperate to get naked from at least the waist down and sink into it!!
The trouble with this wonderful location is that it is very clearly visible from a road. The road is not very busy, but sods law if I just went for it, someone would drive past and see me and probably it would be someone who knew me! I can't let that happen. So, I've been trying to think how I can make this work.
- The easiest solution is to do it at night, when likely nobody will be out and the dark will hide me, however it gets very cold here at night, so ideally I'd like some warmth from the sun.
- Waiting until hot summer evenings MIGHT not be a good idea due to biting insects.
- I thought about putting up some sort of camouflage net to hide me, although being right in the middle of a field, I think that's as much likely to draw attention to me than keep me secluded.
What can you guys suggest!!? How can I best achieve this discreetly? What semi-public locations have you guys got messy in previously and how did you keep hidden?

Maybe a tent (without a groundsheet) rather than a net? I.e. that's something that often gets put in fields.
Another concern is someone seeing you and thinking you are in distress, which might lead them to call the authorities to extract you from the mud. Then you'd end up on the local news!
How important is being nude? That does make it a lot harder, going in the mud clothed can be put down to "I just wanted to" and most folk won't think much of it unless they're aware of the fetish, but being naked does attract attention.
How fast does traffic pass on the road, is it out of town with fast vehicles and no pedestrians - in which case you'd probably be safe enough, people can be very unobservant at speed - or is it somewhere with passing foot traffic?
How fast does the vegetation in the hedge grow? it might be covered once the leaves are out? Are you able to put some kind of screen/camouflage up by the road to block the view? How bad are the insects at say 3am? I find they're usually worst around sunset.
You could wear camoflage- people will think it's some kind of army training/exercise. Especially if you bring a friend.
Or borrow some diversion signs and close the road yourself. (not sure how illegal this might be)
Place two or three traffic cones at the edge of the roadway just ahead of your mud oasis. Drivers will focus briefly on those then return their attention back to the road leaving you unobserved. Maybe.

It is a tough one. I think what makes it far worse these days is the fact that everyone has a phone and it would be mortifying if someone stopped and took pictures/video and posted it on social media, I can imagine "who's this weirdo"? I don't want to make anyone worried but it is a real issue now.
Definitely a few good ideas. I think moonlit nights are the most likely at the moment, but the traffic cone idea could definitely work too. Not sure I could find a tent big enough to cover the mud pool - it's only a few feet wide, but quite long, and really I want a nice crawl through all of it!!

If you own the field that i presum you have aquired for this? can you not plant a hedge for long term sreening? Also are you allowed permitted development in Scotland? Then you could errect a shed/outbuildng with no floor over that area perhaps?
