It's been a while since I posted but it's great to be back, hope everyone is well in these troubling times.
So today I finally told my girlfriend of 5 years and live with about....well....this.
It wasn't as straight forward as that to be honest but we were texting or 'sexting' if you like when I was at work, she is very vanilla and innocent when it comes to our sex life but that doesn't go to say that she doesn't enjoy it.
I made the suggestion of us being more adventurous and started suggesting your typical bondage stuff to which she didn't seem really interested, good job because neither am I but if it makes her happy I'd do it, so I plucked up the courage and suggested 'messy plat's and she just said 'yeah' I asked her what she would like to use and she avoided the question but at this point I had gone so far and I needed to see it through. We have dabbled with oil before but she wasn't keen so I mentioned that we could use paint, chocolate, cakes or something along those lines, she said she wasn't interested and I was down and out until I went all out attack and said 'thats a shame because I had a really fun and interesting idea.

When I arrived home she thought I meant water to which I laughed and said 'no that's way too boring' I told her that I wanted her to choose what we use and she declined, I met her half way and told her I will send her some options during the week and she should pick one, she agreed.
She was concerned about the clean up but I obviously said I would take care of this.

This is where I need help.

I need some ideas for substances to use that are cost effective and don't include any of the following.

Savoury foods
Oil
Anything dairy that could smell
Anything that stains the skin and or pool
Anything gross

Secondly some games that we could play to make it last, I really like the idea of messy wrestling but she will probably look at me weird trust me.

Thirdly are some sweet substances like chocolate bad for the skin and give you spots? If so I will have to avoid these.

Fourthly something that is safe in genital areas

And lastly any advice on the clean up would be appreciated as the bathroom is upstairs from where we will be doing it. Is it good to wear socks and take them off after? Or doesn't it make a difference?

I second the gunge but get the pale yellow thick one from Messy supplies as its the closest you get to looking like custard and add some shaving foam pies or messy supplies avalance foam. When the foam mixes with the gunge you get another great foamy substance. Good luck x

If this is her first time, I would definitely stay away from anything strong and savory. You want the experience to be warm, gooey and pleasing to the senses, so that she will want to do it again.
I suggest Raspberry shaving cream. It smells good, feels good, and it won't leave that strong shaving cream smell on your hair. You can usually find some at a dollar store.

Chocolate syrup. It smells and tastes good. Washes off pretty easily. Not a heavy substance. (Not that I don't like heavy, but this is her first time).

Her cleanup is essential. You don't want to make it a lot of work, or have residual affects.

I'll be honest, I find this a little uncomfortable. She seems to be less than thrilled with the idea and it's only coming about because you're pushing it after she's already tried to avoid the subject.

What about compromising a bit? For the first time, maybe put water in the pool. It isn't what you had in mind, but it might get her to relax with the idea of wet sex fun with you. Then, introduce a small amount of a new substance in the shower, so she can see how it feels, but also rinse it away and be assured that it's easy to clean up from. There are women who think, 'Oh hell, I'd jump into that' and those who are more 'I hope it rinses off easily, and that I like it'. Those in the second category need to be handled tenderly until they like it. Keep whatever substance you choose nice and warm too. While half-melted ice cream may be a thrill for some of us, it's a turn off for others.

I totally understand your point of view and how you might see this but if you knew her you would realise that there is no issue and I wouldn't push her into anything.
She is naturally a quite dismissive person and doesn't give things a chance so I've had to put a little extra work in to make her realise that it's not that bad, if she's doesn't like it we never have to do it again and I won't ask but obviously she might love it, you just don't know until you try.
If she outright didn't want to do something she would refuse and refuse and I would give up but with this let's be honest it's out of the ordinary so to some people they just need to be shown that it's not all that bad and can be fun. I've got a funny feeling she is going to really like it.

I think you should just be up front and honest with her about this being your kink. It sounds like she's open minded, adventurous, and truly loves you, so I can't imagine it going over poorly. I don't think you need to dance around it. I think you should tell her how excited you are about the idea of doing messy play in the pool and that this has always been a fantasy of yours and you're super excited to explore it with someone you love

My first wife had sensitive skin and we tried shaving foam, but she immediately claimed it was burning her and rinsed off, never to try any messy things again.

I have heard that pre-emptying the cans helps, as does buying the sensitive skin formula - just in case.

Get some Slube. Basically it makes water more slimy, so it doesn't look intimidating but feels and smells great. If she enjoys play in that, then you can suggest more adventurous substances. But just introduce her slowly.

I find that women are simple minded and highly susceptible to reverse psychology! If you make her think it's her idea,you can doubletalk her into anything!

I was really nervous about telling my girlfriend (now wife) but i started her off with a bubble bath wearing a jacket, then slowly progressed from there, adding one of those aromatherapy geli bath which she really enjoyed then gradually moved onto more messier things like custard, cream. Cream does have a horrible after smell though so if your using that, thoroughly wash any clothing.
My point is, start off slow and simply, if she enjoys the simply water (maybe with bubbles) then you can suggest to her maybe adding another substance.

Thank you so much for all your messages it means a lot. So I've decided to go with the shaving foam and also some shaving gel but she wants it to be a surprise when she gets home from work. Thank you that's so kind of you to say. No it was absolutely fine, we even risked it during sex as there was definitely no way of avoiding it, I just advised her to have a good clean but not issues.
I did find that it gets in your ears quite a bit though, is it normal that I can't stop thinking about it? I'm like obsessing over what we did because I'm so overjoyed.

Completely natural I'd say. Telling your partner and then having your first session together go really well is a big deal, and you should absolutely luxuriate in the afterglow.

I actually apologises to her about keeping talking about it but she said it's fine, one little thing that I was disappointed about after asking her some questions was that it wasn't exactly the mess that turned her on which would of been big one for me.
