Yeah, you're right. I don't think the early shows were even recorded on kinescope. And the others were either destroyed or recorded over. Also, kinescopes disintegrate fairly quickly, so a bunch are probably a pile of dust now!
I've seen so many of Kovacs shows that I was surprised that I had not seen this particular pie hit. I guess it's been hiding from me in plain sight!
I should have posted this when it was current. Kovacs' son has donated all of his material to the Library of Congress. Also, Rich, the material includes "Here's Edie," which was also known as the "Edie Adams Show."
Acutally the "Question Man" bit had a bit of an early SNL feel to it.

Please understand that I'm old enough to count JFK as a personal friend, but I rather think Edie Adams did a pie bit while singing "Control Yourself, Restrain Yourself," possibly with Rowan and Martin.
