Netflix just bought 10 episodes of a fictional show about an out of work actress who takes a job working as a wrestler. It is set in the 1980's and is loosely based on the GLOW show at the Riviera. The talent behind the show are the people from Orange is the New Black and Weeds.
Much as I would love for this to be on-topic, all GLOW ever produced were some so-so pies and, amazingly, not a single ounce of messy wrestling. The pies seem like a weird detail that wouldn't carry over, but who knows. Best case, Kohan & Co. think "80s = mud wrestling" and go there on their own.
And allow me, once again, to make a plea for thread titles that actually give some useful information as to the content of the post....

EDIT: oh, possible mud wrestling. i'm dumb as hell.
There was a recurring bit in the original G.L.O.W. that had Vicki Victory shooting a quick promo then getting pied at the end (probably at least a dozen from Hurley's cliptapes).
I read this today too, thought of posting, but then realized there was basically no shot of this bit being used, so yeah, this is probably off topic.
Well, it's the kind of possible wam alert we should keep an eye on ... although this is so far in the future we'll all forget about it until it's on. At least the announcement comes with an actual episode commitment -- it's not just hot air like that would-be Fox women-in-prison show with Rose McGowan that (sob) actually promised mud wrestling in the press release.

Both of her shows have a goofy streak to them. I could see them doing a couple pie blackouts, although it's a long shot.
Probably the biggest upshot to this will be maybe (MAYBE) the entire GLOW series gets released digitally, streaming, or otherwise. Currently there's only a few "highlights" DVDs out there and I think only the last one has any pie blackouts (and it's just the one). I've seen all the Vicky pies and they're about 90% excellent, but it's early VHS footage from a Hurley tape, so quality is pretty bad. I'd love to see these in (reasonably) decent quality.
I'm excited. I loved glow. People can whine about the quality of mess allt ehyt want, but I thought it was great. Glow gave us pies in a context. There was social buildup, and character involvement. I liked the mess level just fine, personally, but too many pie things today lack that emotional context IMO.
