This is combination of messy and wetlook since we're dealing with red wine. But anyways, THIS IS THE KIND OF THING I was hoping someone like Jayce or any other female model would do with a more viscous substance like cake batter or syrup and give it a Houdini twist!
And from the WAM POV, perfect outfit and very well filmed for a mainstream show, we see every second of her getting into the wine, nothing missed, which of course helps with the building suspense for the escape. Utterly brilliant!

Her asst. when she pops out should have given her a glass of white wine and as she drinks it says "I only ESCAPE from red wine."
The barrel should say "ACME ESCAPE BARREL"
"I refuse to escape from Merlot!"
They could have made it comedic, but they're going for the more serious approach which is fine by me because we SO RARELY get this form of entertainment. It's like a niche within a niche which I am cursed of being into!

The WAM may have been decent, but there was no suspense as she was never in any danger. The handcuffs are gimmicked and the locks aren't real either. I know how to pick locks, and there's no way she picked the lock on the lid of the barrel. No tension wrench, no actual picking movements, and even in locks where you can bypass the core to the actuator, you can't do it with a short hook like she had. It was BS when Houdini did it, and it's still BS today.
Well, Houdini DID use picks often (and was a master locksmith)...sometimes he even had to physically break the chains (he was super strong) when the picks failed or broke. But yes, sometimes (as with routine performances for stage) he would use gimmicked locks or entire 'contraptions' that his advance men gimmicked for him (ahead of each live publicity stunt).
P & T 's Fool Us'(FU) is a great show and we get to see really innovative magic. But I am often puzzled when escape artists appear on the show...do they not realize that escapes were P & T's bread and butter for years?
As for the wam content...too 'liquidy' for my taste (so to speak)...But, regarding the use of a 'clear' barrel (which could reveal the trick) ...maybe a stout (dark) beer (in a glass barrel) would work better. BTW, he 'friend'/ assistant (who actually made the trick work) is wicked cute.
I'd walk into the Deli and ask for "half a pound of Nova and half a bound of belly lox." Then of course two dozen bagels and big thing of cream cheese.
