DarkOfYou said: Dream location in general would be a very thick, slimy, smelly swamp to wallow naked in. I've wanted that specific experience for as long as I've had this fetish. The black mud you were in looks incredible but the same could be said about all of your locations. The only kind of place that doesn't really interest me would be a quarry. Quarry mud looks incredibly luxurious but not dirty enough to make me horny. Would I turn down that opportunity? No, but I would choose a swamp if I had to decide between the two.
I'm similar, something about that slightly gross organic content makes it a lot more fun. Smelly mud that bubbles around you as you relax into it is just my favourite. Tidal mud can hit a good balance of having that while still have an amazing silky feel, especially if you go further up the tidal range where the water circulation is slower (salt marsh areas etc).
I need to get into some more decent tidal mud. Something a lot more private.
The "new" Salton Sea mud volcanoes near what used to be Mullet Island are unique. The mud volcanoes near Cartagena in Columbia and the Crimea would be nice too but are not heated.
I like the smoothness of the quarry mud. Also it should be deep enough to cover without having to lie down. The smooth clay type is best. I have enjoyed so much tidal mud, but would like something different. Tanners stuff is awesome and very inviting.

I think mud volcanos are super cool. Definitely would be therapeutic

This mud looks amazing. Would love to dive into that naked.
Personally love smooth mud such as tidal mud and especially peanut butter like quarry mud. Would love to meet up with others to enjoy good mud together - always jealous of the great sites used by guys such as @TannerQS, @wm992, @boggydoggy and @sinking_deep but up for trying anything.
My dream mud pit would just be something artificial and private.
I feel like that's the only way I could *really* and *truly* enjoy myself. It would be so amazing to be able to play without having to keep repeating to myself "This is ok, Xan - you aren't going to get caught...probably," or "What's that smell?", or "Is that a stick poking my leg? God, I hope it's a stick!," or "Where exactly are those gunshots coming from?"
Playing in mud without the massive logistical anxiety is the dream.
(Oh! And to be able to share the experience with kink friends and/or partners without having to necessarily filter out the ones who don't own hiking boots and can't handle a 4-mile walk through the woods.)

Funny you say this Exactly how I feel.. I have a friend here that might be making one sometime in the distant future. Of course people are moving here in the distant future and they want to build mud pits.
SecretSquelcher said: I'm very happy with the tidal mudpit I currently visit, BUT have become aware of a large settling pond near a slate processing mill. For those who don't know, slate is waayyyy heavier than usual quarry products like limestone, and the fines are incredibly smooth. I have tried a foot in it... Omg straight up to my waist, massive struggle to get out. It sticks to clothes like crazy, my feet emerged the size of 20 litre jerricans. That's 4 gallons for those so inclined. Desperately want more but there's on site security. Ugh.
In Russia, there is a mud volcano with mud that looks much thicker than the average mud volcano. This isn't me in the photo, it is my friend from Russia who actually went there on a trip. I'll just have to stick to my Drained Pond full of sticks for now

That's some crazy good looking mud. I'd love to play in that type of stuff.

The coolest looking mud Imo is the Alaskan mudflats... not enough privacy though

I've definitely wanted to visit the Alaskan mud flats. That stuff does look very grippy id only go naked in that stuff to avoid getting stuck

Would probably be heaven. I wish i lived in alaska every now and then
My dream mud pit? It's actually near where I live. There is a shallow lake, connected to a major river. At the end of every summer, the water levels go down so that the lake is cut off from the river, and the lake water quickly evaporates, depending on weather conditions. The three feet of sloppy black mud at the bottom of the lake are then at the surface and it becomes a sea of deep gloppy dark mud. Here's a photo of my wife we took a few years ago. There is still remains of duckweed and water lilies that are floating on the mud until they eventually decompose and become new mud.
Major problems are getting to and from the area, as one must arrive from the area of the river because the shoreline is filled with brambles and sharp sticks. So the adventure can be started with an inflatable boat, then it becomes necessary to go on foot, slogging through the shallow water (with deep mud underneath) until you get to where there is no more water on top. Going back to the boat is worse, because now you weigh a lot more and there is no water to rinse off with yet. You push the inflatable boat out into gradually deepening water until it is deep enough to rinse off and get back in the boat. You use up 90% of your energy struggling to get to the good spot and back out again. The other problem is timing. There is only about a week or two tops where conditions are right, and you don't know until you go there, and the area could still be under water, or it may be cracked and dry.
But I must say the mud makes it worth the effort, as it's the darkest, slimiest, smoothest mud I've ever encountered, almost like chocolate pudding. (but with a different smell! LOL )

It certainly is, and I forgot to mention it is private, thanks to the brambles and terrain surrounding the area, and a lot of bubbles are created when you slog through it. Decomposing vegetation from previous years makes for lots of gas bubbles when you move around in it. It's amazing.
I've always wanted to use the clay pit at studio 588. I was supposed to go earlier this year but due to us being short handed at work my vacation time I had approved was canceled. Hopefully I'll be able to make it down in 25.

I have definitely played in the bubbles from decaying vegetation type Those are always the most fun sounds you get to experience during the summer.

This one is Route207 inspired. Built a heated indoor clay pit, 1 ton of clay or around 20 bags, 16 foundry hill creme and 4 om4, plus 1 bag iron oxide black to make it grey (12% iron oxide by volume will make it pure black). There are a few kilos of epsom salt mixed in to make the clay extra thick and clingy. It's filled up to 30 inches but you will float unless you dig your heels into the really thick stuff at the bottom and slowly excavate the clay under your body until down to shoulder deep.
As for construction, it's mostly 2x4s and deck screws for the frame, 1/2 inch foam board insulation, 240 ft of de-icing cable wrapped around the inside for heating, pond liner on top, and then mud to fill with a small plastic step for the shallow tip to climb in and out. The step is filled with thick blocks of prepared clay as an anchor point for feet. The heating element is 1,200 watts / 10 amp and safely plugs in to a GFCI 15A circuit. It takes about 3 hours to get comfortably warm at around 102 F.
The one in my current profile pic is pretty dreamy. Deep, thick, perfect for diving into. And best of all, there's a bunch of other pits at the same place I've yet to try out. I can't wait to go back!

Wow that is crazy cool. You built that? I bet that also helps skin a lot too with the Epsom salt too.
