First time I noticed it had an effect on me was when I was in middle school - girl pied on the Mickey Mouse Club. Soon after that I saw the Mandrell pieing and that was that.
GLoW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling), or more precisely, The Vicious Vickie skit near the end of the show was what started it for me. I was around 9 or 10 years old, but even then there was something about it that clicked with me. When the pie hits were really good (full facial coverage), I enjoyed it. And when the pie hits were weak, then I was disappointed. It wasn't until puberty when I began to associate it with sexual arousal.
I just wish there were more videos of that skit, especially the ones with the excellent pie hits.

In my youth Double Dare, YCDTOT, and What Would You Do (on Nickelodeon) did it for me. Years later, I found Messyfun and some other sites, then the UMD started and pulled it all together.

Ditto. Sally James dressed in black jeans, black shirt, and boots, clothes completely drenched in flowing shaving foam and water. Then there were things like On Safari with the swamp and water obstacles, and women in boilersuits.
And then of course there was this (below) album cover!

Just missed Tiswas at the time but watched quite a few clips since
The first things i found were the Razzle romp and Fiesta fan club on the top shelf! Then one day found a copy of sploshed in a newsagent that had a very large selection of magazines......at the time you don't even realize what your into, but as your eyes flick around the huge selection of pictures up there..................suddenly your eyes stop on some hot women with a can of squirty cream etc..............and then the internet arrived and we've never looked back :splat:
Make that two of us!!! I was 5 years old (one year after the album came out). I knew it was by Herb Alpert, but didn't recognize any of the songs at that time. All I cared about was the hot girl covered in whipped cream. I felt "funny in my pants" but didn't know why. The rest, well the rest is history. I've been wamming on and off, in one form or another for 49 years. Whipped cream, especially used in pies, has been my substance of choice. Much thanks to Herb Alpert. Enough said.
Get Your Own Back did it for me. Remember pretending to dumped in the gunge then experimented with paint in my socks in my bedroom as a kid.
The first ever time I got messy when I was about 16 I got some vegetable soup and tipped it over myself it stunk but felt great and haven't looked back since 😀
Razzle Magazine in the 90's with the Razzle Romps where every month it featured 4 or 5 girls posing together, they always seemed to get messy in the "romps", coincidentally the late great Bill Shipton worked freelance for Razzle at the time doing a lot of those multiple girl shoots, might have had something to do with it!!
Watching Slime Time Live as a kid. I was 9 when the show started and 12 when it went off the air, so I was going through that phase of discovering myself, if you will. I found myself hooked on it, and would watch the show on mute or at a very low volume and immediately change the channel if somebody walked into the room. The fact that I felt the need to flip channels to avoid being caught watching a show that most people would consider to just be child-friendly fun told the preteen me that I had some deeper, yet-to-be-discovered feelings about the content of the show which I would later come to identify as a WAM fetish. It would also explain why Jessica Holmes was my first celebrity crush
The earliest thing I remember is Lorna Gray getting hit with cream puffs in the Three Stooges 'Three Sappy People'. The fact that she was laughing and enjoying it thrilled my 6 year old brain and I guess that's what triggered my fetish. I actually got to meet her briefly at a Three Stooges convention in the mid 90's in Philadelphia so that was interesting.
Weirdly enough I was afraid/scared of gunge/messy stuff when I was quite young...hated NHP and had to go out of the room or put a cushion to my face when they gunned people.
It all really started for me though when I picked up a copy of Bizarre magazine whilst waiting for a train, I saw pictures of a lovely woman coated in honey or treacle and read the associated article and a few days later I decided to give it a go myself with some custard.
Grew up in the northern wilderness where most the ground was made of clay and much of the surrounding area was marshland and bogs. Being big into the great outdoors I would go exploring and always return home absolutely filthy or soaking wet. Once when I was a little older I went into a yard under the cover of night where they were digging a retaining pond. It hadn't been filled yet and all the sides were natural clay with a tiny little puddle at the bottom. I turned it into a slide and ended up looking like one of those human statues. Guess that was my turning point.
