I was skimming some past threads last night and was very surprised to see that the above profile, aka Andy of Wamtastic, based in Manchester here in the UK, has been deleted. I wasn't the biggest fan of his stuff, but in fairness he was one of the longest-running UK producers. By my memory he went way back into the 2000s, so was active for at least 15 years and maybe closer to 20. There wasn't even a "Goodbye" thread, was there? (Perhaps I missed it, but I do at least glance at the latest topics most days, so don't think I did.) That's a bit of a shock in itself, as he was a regular poster.
There was a difference of opinion with the site owner over some contingent contractual, technical and rights matters. Nothing personal as I understand but it motivated Andy to make the decision to leave UMD.
It was all a bit strange. Likewise, most of his content wasn't really my thing, but he'd been around forever and it was from one of his models, at a Northern Splunch back in 2005, that we first picked up the idea of adding fizzy pop to wam scenes - she commented to Lady Jasmine that she'd had a two litre bottle of pop poured into her dress and "it fizzed in places I didn't know I had places."
I gather he took exception to how UMD Premium works, which was odd as it's basically free advertising that other people pay for, but he then deleted his profile towards the end of that four page thread on ID documents that @erictheviking linked to above. I guess here will be rather fewer photos of messy girls in satin pyjamas around here from now on.
Thanks to everyone for the responses. I didn't pay too much attention to the "Photo ID" thread I must admit, and so missed all this excitement.
I agree with DM that Andy's unhappiness with the Premium concept seemed a little odd given how others on the thread tried to explain it shouldn't really be a problem, but (shrug) he seemed content enough that he was right to leave and so here we are.
It's good that he's still out there though. As I said in my first post (and again to echo DM), Andy's scenes weren't quite to my taste, but it's still important when someone racks up that kind of longevity in our world. Good luck to him
