Messtival is the world's first sploshing/ WAM film festival and awards ceremony, and it's BACK for 2022!! More info announced VERY VERY SOON but in the meantime, what awards would you like to see and be able to nominate your favourite moments, models, and studios for?
I'm sorry to be the one to raise it but someone will so it might as well be me, there have been wam awards at least 4-5 times in the 20 years I've been on UMD and they raise their heads from time to time, I think the first were proposed by a member called chainsaw John many years back now

Depending on the category, we may open it up to all films/performers/studios regardless of when it was produced to give everyone a chance at recognition even if they haven't been able to create during the pandemic I definitely want to showcase creative and unique films more!

Best fully clothed mud scene featuring the household of a stately home. Best scene filmed in the dungeons of a Yorkshire manor house. Best wetlook scene filmed in the Yorkshire Dales. Best newcomer solo-producer from Yorkshire. Ok, that guarentees wins for Honeysuckle and myself.
Seriously, not actually sure what to suggest here. The breakdown last time seemed to work fairly well. Though there does now seem to be more of a split between "fun wam" and "humiliation wam", so perhaps that should be reflected?
Silliest / most amuising WAM concept? Most elaborate way to gunge someone? Best contraption?
Should there perhaps be a limit to how many any individual producer/team can win, so more people get a chance of winning something? Once a producer/team has 3 awards they are disqualified from winning any more? Just a thought.
A personal request: Could the featured videos include at least one fully clothed one? Last time all included nudity, even the Moomins one, which was slightly disappointing - though not a criticism of the event, which was AWESOME!!!
Final thought, could one of the awards be dedicated to the memory of Norman Mabeld? he had a huge and well respected presence and encouraged lots of us, he was always enthusiastic about my work and I gather he was equally supportive of many others, and his passing was a real loss to the community. A true gentleman, in the genuine sense of the term.
Best food fight in a soap opera. Best chocolate Easter Bunny. Most ridiculous outfit to be trashed in. Best recreation of a famous WAM scene. The Bill Shipton lifetime achievement award for Sploshing.

Great idea. Perhaps this award could recognise and honour a 'super fan' or one of the many great 'cheerleaders' in the community or other, often unsung, heroes? Those persons who don't necessarily produce media themselves but are notable in other ways.

If there's one thing that's clear here, it's that WAM has lots of sub genres, it's probably unwise to go all Grammys and have essentially an award for everyone, but a few ideas:
Best clothed site/scene. Most entertaining site/scene Unintentional moment of the year. Best gameshow Best Interactive scene/site
I'm trying to think of the right terminology for this next one, lifetime achievement" never feels right, (the, "they might croak it soon" award) how about icon of WAM - recognising someone who has been prolific for several years.
I'd also suggest having Highly Commendeds as well (essentially, the runners-up in a category) that way there's a bit more recognition spread out.
