The youtube algorithm presented this music video to me today, and there is a wetlook scene where the lead singer dances around in the pool in a dress with the rest of her band.
Kinda scary to think that the Youtube algorithm knows you and your preferences.
Imagine how problematic this will be once your friends and potential employers or rivals are able to pay a background checking service to provide information from Googe/Youtube on what your personal preferences are -- this will not end well for us.
I have many many customers and contacts who have very sensitive jobs (high ranking military, clergy, police, CEOs) or are in high profile public office (local government officials and one who is an aide to a Governor), who would face media attacks and lose their jobs if background check companies and investigative reporters had access to your ip address and Youtube's algorithm profile on you. This problem is worse if you use Facebook.
Lucky for me, I retired from the Corporate World 30 years ago and have been self employed ever since and my wife has always been fully on board with my fetish interest, so I have nothing to hide so nobody can dig up any dirt on me and cause me to lose my job....but I would be worried if I was a young person and trying to build a career in the Corporate World or in the Public Sector.....because these Big Brother algorithms mean you have no privacy these days.
if you live in mainland China.....the government now gives every citizen a "social score" which works like a credit score does ....only much worse....i.e. they track what sites you visit and if you visit any adult media sites or visit any sites the government does not approve of this get tracked and then your good citizen score goes down....and once your score gets too low -- guess what -- your passport is rescinded and you are not allowed to travel.
I don't use a VPN...because I am retired now and I do not care what anybody says about me. But if I still worked in the private or public sector, I would make sure to use a VPN when accessing sites like Youtube.
