Just discovered these recently. Guys go on fully clothed and take the chance on getting totally soaked! Kinda humiliating having to walk around that way the rest of the day. Anyone else into this?
Had a great time getting soaked at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure in Florida a couple of years ago. I had on dark indigo Levis 501s, a blue chambray western style work shirt and 18" logger boots worn under the Levis.
We discovered the single rider lines and went on all of the rides that get you wet multiple times. Nobody minded us being soaked in our clothes while we walked about but I had to pull my shirt tail out to hide a certain bulge in my Levis after a good soaking.
It's too bad that amusement parks don't have one of those automated cameras that snaps pictures of people on the water rides. That would be great to see! I might actually spend a few bucks to purchase a photo!
Yeah that universal Orlando Islands of adventure I think has two of the wettest wet rides there are: the popeye and bluto bilge rat barges and the Dudley doright buzz saw falls.
The popeye one is one of those round raft rides. They usually get you wet by having water splash over the sides. This one is good for that, but also has TONS of places where lots of water dumps on top of you. You can really get completely soaked from head to toe.
The buzz saw falls is a log flume ride, but tends to get you extra wet. There are a couple dips in the dark where you get so wet, there must be water dumping on top. Then at the end there are water cannons where people can shoot you at the end of the ride, just in case you didn't get wet enough already!
Part of what I like about the rides is that you can wear totally the wrong clothes! At a waterslide park, everyone is in trunks and you're supposed to get wet. But at a regular park, guys are wearing jeans, sweatshirts, etc, and still take the chance on getting SOAKED on these rides.
