Rena contacted me through Craigslist, and said that this type of shoot was "right up her alley" She's the singer and guitarist in a NYC punk band, and does some acting/modeling on the side, so she was definitely down to get pied and slimed at my studio!
Wearing a psychedelic t-shirt, Rena modeled a giant, bakery-style pie for the camera in a variety of super sexy and super goofy poses. As soon as I mentioned slapstick comedy, she went all "Three Stooges" with the reactions- really sexy and funny!
A little nervous at first, Rena starts out getting pied in the face a number of times, and had some whacky reactions to it. She was practically dancing in her seat, styling the shaving cream all over her hair, face and clothes. She even took a bite out of the pie crust at one point, which was not very smart I then tossed a couple red & blue pudding pies in her face, and she turned into a melting Firecracker popsicle!
After a recycled self-pie sandwich, Rena gets nicely slimed in a perfectly green & chunky YCDTOTV slime. She's completely destroyed at this point and loving it The last thing is a giant self-pie to the face, which she rubs in with the slime, turning Rena into a green goo girl topped with cream! We spend the last few minutes recycling the pie & slime, as Rena continues to enjoy the feel of the goo on her face and in her hair and everywhere else!
The video follows a loose, interview-style format with very little editing. I've again included my own "pop-up commentary" with jokes/insights/explanations that hopefully add to the viewing experience!

When I say Red-headed rockstar I thought of Hayley Williams from Paramore for a second. Boy if she got clobbered........I'm sure she's not a natural ginger but who cares right?

Not exactly a natural redhead- she's a very fair-skinned, light blonde though. So kind of in that family of complexions. She mentioned having a tough time in the sun on beach days
The slime is fantastic in these shoots and this sliming in particular reminded me very much of a Jill YCDTOTV sliming circa 1989. I really dig the vibe on these shoots, too. Very natural banter, easygoing, noticeable and appreciated lack of awkwardness in general. Can't wait to see that Hispanic girl take the slime. Looks pretty epic.
Wow I love that ultra specific YCDTOTV reference. But I was going more for '86-'87 .
I like being able to show with these audition tapes the real side of the messy experience. They're all real girls with unique personalities, and it's fun getting to know them before they get pied and slimed. They're always excited but nervous- doing this crazy thing at a stranger's house- and they always enjoy the hell out of it by the end
