All British names (for anything) sound silly / funny / and/or wammy to my ears (possibly due to a serious childhood case of Cumberbatch* in both ears).
*Also sound like names for rare / odd diseases, as in 'got the Cumberbatch')
There are plenty of streets in Europe called something-platz or -plats as it means square. If precided by a possessive 's', many readily suggest mess such as 'Stefansplats' or the epic food fight of 'Marketsplats'.
There's also a park called The Wammy in Stoke on Trent.
