I've been around awhile and I've seen a lot of talk here and there about recipes, damage things have done (like Jayce's eye problems), etc.
Is there a site, message board, discord, etc. that has a WaM recipe list? Specifically recipes that talk about hair safety and cleanup?
If not, I might look into starting something. I'd love to build a huge database of food/WaM items (maybe even by brand): 1.) Ease of Cleanup and Method of cleanup (hot water, soap, special solvents) 2.) Safety factors like "Safe for Hair", "Safe for Eyes", "Safe for Nose", "Mouth Safe", "Breast Safe", "Private Parts Safe for Male/Female" 3.) Lingering Smell? Smell level during WaM session? 4.) Permanent Stains (or very hard to remove) 5.) Clogs plumbing? 6.) Where to buy? Country bought in? 7.) Special Instructions
Feel free to comment below on contents you'd like to see in a table like that? Like additional columns of helpful information? Maybe I'll make a Google Docs spreadsheet that people can modify a main page of (with a backup doc I'll occasionally copy/paste to that only I can see/edit in case some moron wipes it one day)?
I just think that would make a very quick, easy way to search for things. Have a secondary page of "recipes" where people use a row to list out what they use and instructions and link any pics.
Absolutely and in fact one of this website and practice's most prolific producers and creators has developed a guide most informational and effective in helping young bucks like yourself stay up to speed and joining the interstate to sploshing safety and awareness.
Candy custard created this guide, acting as the WEB Dubois of our craft and proving a foundational guide that all can use, and at best, for free. We truly don't deserve this so with great appreciation I share this fantastic resource
Edit: I significantly apologize my brother, I was in the Bojangles drive thru and was rushing and failed to notice sending the wrong link. After opening the link, select "blog" and find the library of Alexandria of sploshing resource.
As long as care is taken there's not much you can't mess hair up with, and wash out again afterwards, though there are a few things to beware of.
First off, be aware that while some things are fine in hair, they'll sting like an absolute bastard if they get into someone's eyes. This is why you'll not see our people pouring things like tomato soup over each other's faces - anything tomato-based gets in eyes, bye bye any trace of fun, it stings like hell. As someone with sensitive eyes myself I'd never put a model through something I wasn't willing to do myself.
Second, in terms of washing things back out of hair, first avoid anything (like ordinary flour) with gluten in it (though Candy has advice on how to reduce the problem), and also, be aware of the different techniques for different substances. In particular, with things like golden syrup of black treacle, the important thing is to not be in a hurry, just stand under running warm water, no scrubbing, no shampooing, no messing with it at all, just stand and let the water flow, and all the sugar just melts away to nothing in the flowing water. Once it's all washed out, shampoo and condition as normal.
Third, if playing in mud, putting conditioner in hair and combing it through before going into the mud has advantages, it'll make the hair look fabulous and shiny, but also make it easier to wash the mud out afterwards too.
