I caught this on TV over the weekend. Lois gets in a catfight with Peter's boss, and they end up pie covered for a brief moment. Check out Peter's reaction. Kind of cool.
It's a reference to that show with that yellow bird and the guy with the unibrow. The chef yells "10 banana cream pies" and old family guy references a ton of late 70s and 80s media, that's why YCDTOTV was referenced as stated above. I highly doubt the writers were/are aware of our community.
