I love tattoos, personally. They're way more acceptable now generally and more people have them.
For some I think they find tattoos dispel the image of 'innocence'. They still suggest, like smoking does, something a little edgy and counterculture and emancipation.
Like shaving public hair way back: pretty much only professional glamour models, sex workers and porn stars did this at one time so if they were trying to convince you they were some kind of 'girl next door' or everywoman it was smashed the second they took their panties off.
There was a time when I equated tattoos with a lack of intelligence. Why on earth would anyone feel the need to permanently disfigure their own bodies with (sometimes) crude designs? I must admit my views have moderated somewhat more recently.
Some of the full arm sleeves that can be seen now are truly artistic are carried out with thought, skill and often with an element of history. My wife, like, I suspect many women, contemplated have a small butterfly or similar tattooed into place. This would then become a starting point and so on.
That said, I find leg tattoos ugly and unattractive, also chest tattoos which on men can sometimes be OK, as far as women are concerned in my view, they never work. Inevitably some people will go too far and lose the effect. There is a girl who works in our local delicantessen, who not only has both arms tattooed, but her hands and fingers too. I did find this disconcerting at first, as initially one wondered whether her hands were clean. I know this sounds ridiculous, but that was just an impression. I have (and had) no reason to suspect that there was anything unhygenic about her tattoos and I no longer wory about it. Other customers sometimes take a different view and ask to be served by someone else. I am not saying this is right or just, people's prejudices inform their views.
Where possible, I make a point about asking about peoples tattoos and often there are some very interesting stories behind them, ranging from family history to "a drunken night in Malaguf." Very often people are pleased to tell their stories. I still carry the perhaps illogical view that whilst arms, back and shoulder tattoos work, other parts of the body are often less successful.
I now stand back awaiting a load of opprobium to be heading in my direction for simply expressing a view about other people's behavior.
As for the other thing I hated getting hairs in my teeth!
I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I can't stand tattoos either... they just make me THINK a girl is "trailer trash" (please note I'm not saying that she IS, jut that is the impression they give off), likewise I cannot stand body piercings (except 1 set of earlobe piercings for the same reason)... However I must admit I prefer a girl to be shaved / waxed "downstairs" for the same reason as Topcattopone.
To me the important thing in a wam video is that the people in it are enjoying getting messy. I know models with amazing tattoos, I know others with none, I'm completely happy either way, same re piercings. Their bodies, their rules.
I'm pretty sure nobody is going to be surprised by my vote in this... I'm pretty heavily tattooed, pierced, and otherwise modified. Most of the models I shoot with are as well. I'm a big fan of body modification, tattoos included, as a form of expression. One of the primary joys of working in the IT industry is not having to worry about people freaking out about tattoos and piercings and such. We are expected to be weird
I don't have a strong preference on this topic. I'm not personally inked in any way (and I don't foresee myself ever getting any ink), but it's not a dealbreaker one way or the other for me...
Tattoos can be neat, and very artistic. Tattoos can also be trashy and ugly. Generally speaking I can appreciate the the well done ones, but I also tend to find them "unattractive". I think it depends on what, where and how much ink.
But that's just me, and everyone has different tastes.
I'm 100% in the "as long as they're into it" camp. Many of the models are great, but I especially love the amateur couples and individuals who are actual wammers.
