Hey guys, I have wanted to film some VR clips, but lack a camera. Anyone interested in either helping financing this or would want to trade a custom for the value of the camera? This could not only be an awesome opportunity to make an awesome clip, but influence a cool new audience from the beginning. Plus, I would make sure it was well worth your while. Thoughts??

Just for the sake of progress, I really hope someone takes you up on this! A search on Amazon for "360 video camera VR" shows some as low as $85(!) But they are such new products it's hard to tell the good from the bad. In January https://umd.net/forums/vr-virtual-reality-wam-you#516963 I mentioned a $200 Ricoh Theta M15, and I see now that the early reviews are not promising. Hopefully quality products at reasonable prices are, if not here yet, coming soon. I suspect that not many people have headsets (at least ones that work -- see my previous post), so the broader market for VR WAM vids is surely very soft now. Curious to see how the after-Christmas prices are.
Since the subjects in VR can be seen from different depths/angles, every viewing can be fresh. That along with its immersive effects would really personalize a WAM vid far more than looking at a static screen. Just a lot more bang for the video buck. I think a three girl pie & gunge fight with a camera in the middle would be wonderful. Even one hung over a mudwrestling match could really rock. Of course, you'd want make sure that bad boy is waterproof first!
Yea I am trying for the Ricoh S I think. It is more $ but has longer recording time. And it also has a waterproof clear case for it. I have had a few curious people already, so this could happen. Plus it is black Friday.. things could get interesting!
