So I've been jumping back into my Quest 2 and enjoying gaming and of course, VR porn and stuff and was just wondering if anyone knew of any VR Wam content out there? I tried searching the forum for previous mentions and came up with nothing, although admittedly I might not have searched correctly?
Any producers considered filming VR Wam vids? It seems like an obviously huge potential moneymaker given what most of us would pay to have sessions with our favorite Wam models but don't have the ability. That said I say that not knowing at all what it takes to produce VR content and it wouldn't surprise me at all to find out that its immensely expensive.
I've dabbled in a little VR production on other projects what I can say from it is that VR lends itself well to some things but not very well to others. Most WAM content is probably in the not so well column.
VR can be done on the cheap for some projects some of these VR POV porn videos can be done relatively cheaply but not really for WAM.
Firstly if you're hoping for a VR scene in which a pie is thrown into your face if you were to "shoot" this in real life would mean chucking a pie at a 360 camera on a tripod (probably also knocking it over). Ignoring the possibility of screwing up the camera itself you're then going to have to wipe the gunk off the camera for the scene to continue or you're not going to be able to see anything for the rest of the video. How is this achieved convincingly in real life? Producer stepping in with towel to wipe gunk off of camera certainly isn't scene convincing. Furthermore wiping grease from a pie off of a camera lens perfectly without greasy streaks remaining on the lens to ruin the rest of the shoot is unlikely.
Boil all that down and VR for WAM will mean either playing the part of a non-messy participant within a scene OR using special effects to fake the mess on you. I haven't checked out whether the more recent versions of Blender have solved some of their underlying fluid sim problems but if not a decent fluid sim that would be able to do this will be expensive that and the learning curve on such programs especially for the likes of fluid sim is quite steep and off putting for most people.
There are also other practical considerations to take into account for instance in a normal shoot the producer and lighting can hide behind the cameras out of shot, but with a 360 VR scene the whole room could be visible. Furthermore some scenes might not be practical as motion in VR that doesn't match a person's own head motions can cause motion sickness for some people so things like a VR pie fight that would expect some camera motion might not be viewable for many people.
In the end there is big difficulty ramp for people to try do VR WAM but there is also very little guarantee that enough people would buy (and enjoy without getting motion sick) such content for many to bother with that difficulty.
Now I don't think it is completely impossible (just difficult) I did during some failed talks with one producer about making some WAM gameshows included a small proposal (the other gameshows were the main focus of discussion) to try do a gunge tank gameshow scene that would involve shooting with a model playing both outcomes of a scripted gameshow along with a cheap 360 camera rig that could then be edited into 1 VR clip/game and 1 regular video for ordinary purchase that I'd be able to do the special effects for but honestly that is about as far as I can see VR being able to go in WAM when you factor in the problem of not being able to clean a messy camera well nor include too much head movement to not make people motion sick. I'd be able to advise or consult with any producers that want to try give a VR project a shot but I suspect it is a headache that probably isn't worth it for most.
This video is absolutely incredible. Might be one of my favorite scenes of all time. The studio said it was looking for models to shoot "another methylcellulose shoot" a few months ago. Hoping it comes out.

I totally see your points! And i will agree that certain types of scenes would be extremely difficult or even impossible to make given the tech involved. Of course my mind immediately thought that "self" wamming would be impossible given you cant mess the camera directly, also it would be a quick vid even if it were possible given after the first pie or what have you youre looking at a black screen unless constant "wiping" was happening lol!
That being said, most of the vr vids that ive seen are almost ALL the "guy(YOU) sits in a chair and the woman/man fucks/performs oral on/strips for you. Admittedly im a pretty simple guy so just having the sensation of the porn star/woman being THERE with you is pretty intense and it made me think how awesome it would be to see a comparable wam vid done this way. I mean most wam vids are literally a camera (YOU in the vr sense) watching someone get wammed or wamming themselves anyhow, and the thought of being "up close and personal" watching your favortie messygirl pie themselves or what have you is SUPER hot to me lol!
Buuuuut that doesnt discount all the other points you mentioned which are completely valid unfortunately! Heres hoping the tech advances the same way other camera tech has. I mean if we can make super cheap GoPros that can handle being dropped and submerged in water with no sweat I can see a vr cam in the future that can take a good pie or two lol!

Dude that looks AWESOME and is EXACTLY the kind of stuff Im looking for!!! Ugh, too bad SLR is hella expensive but I think im gonna splurge on a month for that vid alone lol!

To be clear at no point did I say the technology wasn't available, indeed I implied the opposite by saying I was happy to offer services to help anyone trying to achieve it. GoPro has been selling 360 degree monoscopic waterproof cameras for years already. (Stereoscopic 360 degree videos will struggle to be waterproof and cheap if they need to also capture spatial sound). They will be fine if you drop them in a bucket of gunge or smear it round a pie but that is all besides the point. If you were actually in a WAM scene you'd be wiping your own eyes clear not have a producer run in with a towel to wipe them and even then cleaning the lens of all gunk is not guaranteed that the rest of the shoot isn't blurry or ruined by a streak of grease. VR in which the watcher also gets "messy" will require faking it with special effects. Fluid sim is already one of the trickiest parts of visual effects for 2D film let alone 360 video.
Even if you go down the route of watcher is a non-messy participant in the VR experience you still need to plan the shoot in a completely different way to regular 2D one. As easy as it sounds to just replace a 2D camera with a 360 degree one it is so not that simple. Some people piss and moan if they see tarpaulin in some videos or glimpse or hear from a producer during shooting with just 2D videos - most producers get around this by hiding as much stuff off frame and editing out anything that might cause an issue. In 360 there is no out of frame and editing without it being jarring requires more specialist software and editing skills than a simple jump cut.
There's nothing really to stop someone running out buying one of those cameras and solo wamming in front of one but I reckon you've got a similar problem that stereoscopic 3D has/had. Whilst there will be an initial spike of interest due to the novelty of it once people realise there aren't many scenes that you can really make with it I expect it would drop off fast.
Whilst theoretically it could be possible to do sort of like a simple immersive CYOA VR experience as I was thinking in the scene I proposed before such things are very complex to plan, shoot and edit as well have a steep learning curve to do. The issue with that is will enough people adopt VR technology and be willing to pay for such content to make that hassle worth it. I don't know but I mean I dabbled in VR because I like trying new stuff and so if I were a producer I'd give it a go for novelty sake, but would expect much from it myself.

The difference is Vr your in a virtual world game and can move back and forth etc. 360 you are in a set place unless you have mutiple camera. The wam content here on umd is big but not big enough to warrent people doing 360 content. Maybe someone will produce it for the people that want to watch it but i dont think it would be a big money maker.
360 content has to have some stuff going on around you or its almost just a POV video, i guess the plus is that you can move your head around and shave freedom to look where you want.
I need to look into what file format is needed for people to watch stuff back on and maybe i'll film something, end of the day people can watch 360 content in vlc and move around themselves.
the other factor is the file size for umd is small compared to the size of 360 files
Just had a brainwave that either might be completely dumb or genius.
Putting aside messy VR content for a moment I wonder if whether sticking a waterproof 360 camera on a tripod about upper body height on the edge of the dunk tank seat over water and then having a model tease and taunt as they throw balls at the dunk tank trigger mechanism until dunking the camera rig might be an idea.
Now usually such camera movement such as it falling in the tank that doesn't match the user's head movements would normally be a big no no in VR for motion sickness reasons but I'm wondering if it is just one movement at the end that the effect might be minimised. I reckon the visual cues of the camera falling will give many people a dropping sensation (which too be fair on a dunk tank POV vid is probably a bonus) even if sat down but if it is one off and not continuous movement may not rise to vomit inducing.
That and being able to look down to the water below, to the ball's target and the model throwing gives a range of things to look around at for immersion that will make it superior to a typical 2D POV vid. And can probably be shot relatively quickly between other water dunk tank shoots on the same day and require minimal editing.
Just a thought for something that could be tested with a level of ease that could probably be recouped by people that would be curious enough to buy a POV dunk tank video. Anyway I should be getting back to my other 4 trains of thought...
