Many many years ago, before many of you were born, there was founded in the art world of Vienna a movement called Actionism (at least that's how we spell it in English), lead or at least comprised of such figures as Otto Muehl and Gunter Brus. A number of these performance art "actions" involved getting messy. Here's a modern take from the Wooster Group, a contemporary artists' collective:
