Now I've never made a video of my own, but I'll see downloads with featured pictures that are meant to represent a teaser of the download video. Only problem is that a LOT of these downloads basically have snapshots of every moment that goes down in a video, so you'll end up with fifty pictures, and then when you download the video, nothing is really a surprise. (That said, I just watched a video where a moment DID take me by surprise, since it wasn't featured in the pictures, which was very refreshing).

I imagine that as a producer, it can be very difficult to advertise your video for purchase without showcasing the best moments the video has to offer, but where do you find that balance of too many/too few pictures?

As a consumer, I find that the best way to enjoy a download video is if I look at the pictures BRIEFLY so as to make the moments in the video fresh when they occur. But sometimes you have to really scrutinize the details to decide if the video is worth buying, particularly if it's pricier. And then if the pictures are enough to set you off, it's not really worth buying. Of course, some scenes are simply better when you see the full motion behind it, so the pictures don't really spoil the video anyway, even if you basically know what to expect.

One thing I always dreamed of doing if I were a producer is having this one super attractive person who always doles out the pies (and never receives them) in every video, and then each video gets a ton of comments begging for this person to get pied. Then make a character out of this person, who responds to the comments in a way that sort of teases that it might happen, but on the surface denies it, like "Oh, it will NEVER happen to me, karma doesn't exist!!"

Then just keep building it up and building it up with solid pies and solid scenes, and then after a bunch of videos come out and people are just dying to see this character finally get it, have one video show up that's titled something like, "Finally, Revenge!" and the ONLY pictures you'd see is the attractive pie thrower tied to a chair with a mountain of pies next to him/her. Maybe a few pictures of past victims holding the pies. I'll bet that would just knock 'em dead. People would just have to purchase it, because it just feels like the perfect conclusion to the series.

Something about the idea of this person who is THE pie-throwing icon finally getting what's been coming to them just makes me hot under the collar.

For example, there's a picture floating around here of the ever-grinning PieHound taking a pie to the face, and it just felt so much sexier than if anyone else was taking it because it's HIM and he's NEVER the one taking the pies and he FINALLY got had!! There's this moment where you see this picture and you think, "I didn't even know it was possible for HIM to be pied! Isn't he supposed to be the pie dom?!" And there's an added element of shock and humiliation to it. I've seen similar things in other non-WAM porn formats.
