Now that threads in which multiple, large, YouTube clips are embedded, are becoming more common, scrolling through them and the memory requirements to view them are becoming more of an issue.
Would it be possible to implement an embedded clip size option like the one on the video archive page (either on the forum page or in account preferences)?
Unless they're playing or you're on 15 year old computer, the YouTube iframes shouldn't have much of an impact on performance when using a modern browser.
My four-year-old laptop still handles those threads fairly well. Granted if the list is 10 or 12 videos long and I immediately scroll to the bottom, I usually have to wait a few seconds to see the actual frame of the video.
AB, since you're doing video edits, I assume you have a good system; could slow loading be an issue with your internet connection?
Oh I don't have an issue with it, but other people have expressed concerns. Mostly, having full-size clips just makes the actual post just take up a lot more space than is necessary.

I'm on a year old i7-4800 laptop with 32GB RAM, a 3GB 790GTX video card, and 512GB SSD RAID, running Windows 10 and Chrome (and Opera, Firefox, Edge, Safari, and a couple others for testing purposes) and I notice a slowdown.
