What are some substances you feel are not used, or rarely used? I want to see some softened cream cheese, although I am not sure why it has no been used before. What are some unused substances you want to see/don't know why they are not used?
There's a scene in Tom Stoppard's play "The Real Thing" where the female lead smashes a big bowl of dip (as in chips and dip) into a man's face. Wouldn't mind seeing that happen to a woman sometime...
Things that come to mind are pie filling, cheesecake, and butter. I'm sure there are a few others as well. As others have said it could be due to the higher price of some of these items.

Reminds me of BishopBerkley's story "Sarah in the Trash," where a young man ties up his aunt and humiliates her with several underused substances....
"Just cleaning out your fridge, Sarah. Hope you don't mind!" he said gleefully. There was really little point in protesting, as he emptied some smelly cottage cheese onto her head, which slid coldly down her back. This was followed by some pasta salad, which just sat on top of her head in a congealed lump for a moment or too, before sliding down her face and into her cleavage. Then he took a couple of bananas which had gone completely black. He laughed as he mashed them straight into her face, the juice and gloop pressing into her mouth and nose as she coughed and spluttered.

I'm amused that this thread was started by "mdma". I'm not entirely sure that wamming with ecstasy would necessarily be a good idea...
I'm guessing the main reason why some things are seen more often than others will be financial, followed by willingness (or otherwise) of models. I do know anything involving cottage cheese would have me running in the opposite direction, I cannot stand the smell of the stuff.
Gunge tends to be £5 a bucket, which probably makes it the cheapest, four buckets is usually enough for two models so £10 per model per scene. Cheap custard can be had for 25p per tin but opening tins is more effort than opening cartons and takes longer - it takes 12 cartons to completely cover a fully dressed person and they cost between £1.20 to £1.50 each, so £18 per model per scene. Or if tins are used, it'll take 18 tins per model so £4.50 per model per scene - that's actually cheaper than gunge (gunge used to be £3 per bucket so was used to it being cheaper).
Savoury can be even cheaper - I've seen tins of soup at 13p each on occasion, and it's usually 20p or less. Porridge is also really cheap, TBH something we should use more often, did some scenes with Penny Banks last year and it looked amazing.
As soon as you move away from those staples, prices tend to go up significantly if you still want full and total coverage, which does explain why other items are seen less often.

I have seen only a few Crisco vids (Ariel?). The key is to warm it a little by setting a can in hot water. Also, the off brands don't work so well. It is pure vegetable oil so you don't have to worry about toxic substances. To get it off most easily, scrape off as much as you can with a plastic spatula. For hair, you'll have to use a strong shampoo with hot water - you know the drill. It is very creamy and slippery.
Vaseline - same thing. Vaseline brand works best, slightly warmed. It is harder to come clean, though. In addition to a spatula consider sacrificing an old towel to blot up as much as you can. I would not use it if you have to work the next day. It takes two days to get the greasiness out of your hair, as a woman with long blonde hair and I found out. She wanted to do it again, though, and we did. It's very sensuous. Using just a little, it's a good intro to WAM because just massaging a woman's breast with it I've found (limited sample) turns them on. You can also use it for a dry-slippery hump. Coat each other's tight jeans with it and grind away. But make sure you never want to wear them again.
Butter - always use unsalted. But Crisco is superior.
Note that oil based substances degrade latex, which may include some toys, and definitely condoms.
Fake bukkake - instead of white lotion use Cornhusker's lotion. It is a little cloudy and feel a lot like the real things. It is more expensive than cheap hand lotion, but slipperier IMO.

I've yet to see anything used with joint compound or tar. That would make my decade!
Jointing compound (if you mean the drywall mud) has been used. Not so sure anyone's used real bitumen. Not just stubborn - probably too health hazardous.
