I've watched a lot of Soft White Underbelly. It's an interesting exposure of American culture that a lot of folks would rather not admit exists. The interview with this model apparently had an unfortunate experience with the WAM community. I very much try not to kink shame but I wonder if the humiliation aspect of some productions may give the mainstream folks a less favorable view of our world.

That was actually really painful to watch and is unfortunate that her overall relationship with any WAM producers in the future are possibly soured because a "producer" didn't take the due diligence to fully explain the scene or take the time to fully understand the limits and boundaries of the women he works with.
I honestly don't think the humiliation aspect, in and of itself, is the problem. Poor communication, poorly executed shoots and poor safety for the women on set, however, are. I have shot humiliation and DiD scenes before and it really comes down to consent, safety and communication. It wouldn't be the first time where I heard a war story of a model thinking she was going in to do a simple fetish shoot and it turned out to be way more by the time they show up on set and these are the behaviors we need to alienate and remove from the industry because in the end, they are hurting all of us.
I probably over generalized there. I had definitely meant humiliation content when it's not clearly conveyed that's what's going to be part of the scene. I shouldn't post while sleep deprived lol. Some of marks stuff can definitely be tough to watch but the way he treats his interview subjects with humanity and lets some folks get their stories out there is pretty intriguing.
