Last Friday-Sunday an Off-Road Park in Missouri hosted a Trucks Gone Wild Event. Judging from pictures and videos I've seen the trucks really churn up the mud so I decided I would head up there on Sunday. All of the scheduled events take place Friday and Saturday so I was hoping most people would be heading home on Sunday. I arrived about noon and there were a few people there but mostly park staff cleaning up camp sites and picking up trash. I drove my 4 wheeler around and found several areas that looked pretty promising as they have a large area know as the mud field. I parked over to one side that looked like it had some nice creamy mud I was going to try. There was what appeared to be a small mud hole between where I parked the large mud pit. I stepped into it expecting it to be about 6-8 inched deep. I sank up to my waist! It was a great consistency and the surprise element was something I really enjoyed. I shot a short video that will be up soon, although the pit was shady so not the best quality. Also the camera was really aimed at the larger area beyond where I ended up. After playing in that for awhile I went and washed up in a nearby stream and headed out the the big mud pit I originally was looking at. The mud there was a more creamy smooth mud and came up to about my waist at the deepest point. By squatting it came up tio my shoulders. I could not easly walk in this part so I "swam" over to the edge and cleaned up again. Then I rode to the opposite side and tried out some mud there. The mud was about knee deep there and I wallowed around there for awhile. Decided the other side was the best part and drove back over there. By this time a group of 3 Jeeps had come over to drive their Jeeps through. I had hoped they might get out of their vehicles and play in the mud themselves but they did not. I asked if they had been there the whole weekend and they had, but were about to head home. Once they left me with a little privacy I went back and jumped into both the small pit and the large pit again. It was an excellent day and I plan to go back for the September event!
