I've come across some Instagram posts from a place called Boars Rut in southern Arkansas that has a great mud pit. Anyone in the Mid-South area ever tried it?
Must admit - that one video def. seems like AI. But the links to the campground seem real. But then seemingly no mention of mud pit / mud wrestling on the campground site - and def not on any 'theme' weeks. But also a bunch of other videos from the same account which seem real - and do show a mudpit?!!?
As a follow-up, here is what I received from some questions submitted to their 'contact us' link:
Thanks for reaching out! We are glad you found the pictures and videos of our mud pit.
The mud pit is not a permanent fixture or listed as a regular amenity because we did not realize it would be so popular. It is not open all the time, but we can absolutely reopen it upon request for your visit. Because it is opened specially for guests, you will not have to worry about crowds or waiting in line to get in.
Regarding cleanup, we ask that you use our outdoor hose station to rinse off the heavy mud first. Once the thick layers are washed away, you are welcome to use the regular showers for a final clean.
Please let us know if you would like us to open the pit for your upcoming stay! Best regards
So seems like the best advice is 'call ahead to make sure it is set up!'
