Today we stumbled on a Goodwill Outlet (Goodwill is a large thrift store chain in the USA). It is basically a giant warehouse of bins you dig through. Clothing is sold by weight, not by the item. While digging, we lucked into a wedding dress among other things! Hopefully see it in a future sploshing

The surprising stand out so far has been Idaho. Nice scenery, friendly people, and the Craters of the Moon National park was great!
Andi finished college in late May and her job doesn't start till mid-July so we figured it we would make good use of her free time. It has been over 10 years since my last cross country adventure so I figured I was do. I will say that prices have increased a lot since the last time I did this. We are doing this on the cheap by tent camping. An average tent site at a KOA was about $20-25 when I last did this. Now $50-60 seems about average. Some places we have stayed, a cheap motel room was about the same as camping so we sprung for the latter. And gas has definitely been our biggest expense. The price varies drastically from state to state. We found a low of $3.34 in the mid-west, to a high of $6.11 in the Pacific Northwest. And we have to pay attention to the ethanol content because we are driving an old car. A few times we have spotted what seems like a good price on regular from the highway, only to find we had to buy high test to get 10% or less ethanol.
