It's so odd to me that basically 95% of all mainstream American "WAM" has been fake blood tossing/splatter.... But that's just how it is. Gross-out gags are still hip..... "Classic" slapstick bits like pies in the face are so uncool that even kids shows don't use 'em anymore.
ANYWAY. "Blood splooge" doesn't really do it for me, but occasionally it works out of context. Ash Vs. Evil Dead had a few nice bits with the lead actress, Dana D, getting the faceful. And the awesome (and VERY gory) French horror Inside had a great BTS for the lead actress, with a nice excerpt still on YouTube. (Go to 1 minute.)

What I find really funny is even though mainstream media is "too cool" for messy slapstick now (hell, the Three Stooges remake from 2012 didn't have a single pie in the face!), mainstream culture still finds pies to the face funny. When I was in college from 2019-2024, sororities, frats, and clubs would always have pie in the face fundraisers on the quad. The mascot for the Colts pies people on social media, messy pranks are on TikTok, etc.
I gues people only like pies and mess in a real life context now?

Since fake blood is technically WAM, I was say that Samara Weaving getting a face full of "blood" in the first Ready or Not 2 trailer (starts at 2:06) is a great example.
