I watched an interview with Madison Pettis where she said the mud was supposed to be thicker, but it rained the day they were shooting so they just had to make do with what they had.

Stumbled on this doing some research on youtube.. I agree it is very watery.. however I love the outfits and setup building to the mud fight. The girls in the pit are of course super cute.
I agree that mud should be thick, creamy, goopy and sloppy and that it's a missed opportunity, but I'm happy to see Miranda in skinny Levi's jeans completely soaked.
