This weekend, I attended Kinkfest UK, one of my absolute favourite kink events, and was delighted to have been invited to present on sploshing for one of the workshop sessions!

Turns out, it's surprisingly easy to fill 90 minutes nerding out about all of the different ways to get someone messy. The workshop attracted people who were vaguely curious but had never tried anything to do with sploshing before to people with a fair amount of experience, and I was very happy to see everyone coming away enthusiastic to experiment more and try new ideas!

We talked a lot about the logistics of preparing for a scene, tips for accessing mud specifically, and different ways to get people messy, from fun silly clothed games to sexy naked joy to humiliation and degradation play.

For logistical reasons, we decided not to do any live demo, but my lovely and long-suffering partner with absolutely no interest in this kink whatsoever helped me to instead film some delightful demo videos! We filmed three clips - clothed play (games, clothes filling, textures, clothing manipulation), sexy fun (sensory deprivation, bondage, layering sensations, layering temperatures, different ways to apply mess) and humiliation (harder power exchange, force, disgust theatre and creating effects, pleasure combined with displeasure).

Two things I surprised myself with:

1. There really are so many things you can play with in this ridiculous kink we all share. More than even I thought of when initially starting to draft the talk notes!
2. Enthusiasm is infectious! If you get sufficiently excited and nerdy about a thing, other people are going to be at least curious too.

I know what you mean by this, I love making and using pies and made it my mission to make great UK ones as our US friends have great ones. This made it easier to stop lurking and start chatting with others and showing them recipes even meeting up. I don't think any of that would have happened without enthusiasm.

Sounds like you did an amazing job and put a lot of thought into it, and credit to your "long-suffering" partner (I beg to differ) for putting those demo videos together too.

You're so right about the enthusiasm thing - I think many of us feel like we have to hold back feelings of excitement and nerdiness for whatever reason, but letting it out usually results in positive reactions. I often find that if I'm the one who lets it out, everyone around me tends to relax and do the same!

Come along next year! It's a really wonderful event (I've been to every one since its second year) and full of so much to learn about. It's a very generalist kink event but with lots of specialisms within it.
